This is a specific very effective way to train your child to save their own life. You don't just let them jump in and do it that way. If I had a lot of money and the services in my area hell yes I'd do it. Drowning causes so many deaths each year.

I actually used to teach this to infants when I was in college. We didn't teach the foot thing, but they used their hands and almost flapped. It was amazing to watch the first time. I would love to teach DD to do this as she will spend a lot of the time around pools with me coaching.

I would like to do something like that cuz there are pools everywhere here, including at my parents where they are still deciding to fence or get a child proof cover for the pool or dig it up and fill it in. I think DS would freak out during the training though.
We plan to start swim safety lessons at 6 months. We have a pool and want to take all the necessary precautions (we already have safety fencing and a backdoor alarm set up).
Holy cow! I would probably freak out if it were my child in the water like that, even if it were a class. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to just let him go in the water like that..

That sounds like an amazing job. I would feel so much better about it if I were doing the training myself. I'm leaning towards yes, but I'm still so afraid. That video scared me too much at first, I think.
There are not enough pools in my neighborhood for this to be a concern. Even if so, why is your infant by four feet of water with you nowhere to be found? They shouldn't need to save themselves...the parents should be right there should anything go wrong. JMO.
