Ugh! Just a vent.

I made a hair appointment last week for today at 3:30. I talked to my boss and she said that was fine, tuesday was her easy day and she would get home in time. She reassured me this morning that she would be home in time. At 2:40 she shoots me a text and tells me that she is on her way. She works 20 minutes from home so I knew I would be rushing but I could do it. At 3:15, no sign of her, I call my hair stylists and tell her that I won't be able to make it. 15 minutes later there comes boss lady rolling in. She told me she would watch Lj so I could go to my appt. My stylists is 25 minutes away from their house though and I hate being late so I told her I had already cancelled. I'm upset because I always have respected their time. When they need me I'm there. If she's late I stay, I don't ask for extra pay or any explanation,I'm just there. Yet I can't get the same respect for my time. Ugh!

More frustrating than anything, her husband has called her earlier and asked if she would make it home. He had gotten back to his shop and could come home if not. She told him she had it covered. She has too much pride to admit that she needs help (She has admitted it to me). So not only does this effect me but also my stylists book.

    That sucks. I hate it when I make plans based on when I'm supposed to be off and my bosses are late. It happened last night, actually. I had to cancel dinner plans. Does it happen often? Would you consider speaking up about it?

    So, your boss will watch the baby? Isn't that weird? I don't know if I would ask my boss to watch DS. I'm sure she would. She is already his pediatrician after all. I've just never thought to ask her.

    She is late a lot but I generally don't have set plans after work so I don't have issues. I'm scared to say something because we are friends outside of work. I'm not the confrontational type. They are great to me otherwise.

    I would let her watch Livy if I absolutely had to but she wouldn't be my first choise. Again, we're friends outside of work and she has always been great to the both of us.

    Thanks ladies! Things ended up working out and we went and saw Santa last night with my mom,dad, brother, SiL, Sister, BIL, 2 nephews and niece. Nothing beats having an evening with all of them! I called my hairdresser and she said she had been slammed all day and it worked out for her to. My boss also said that She will do whatever it takes to be sure I can get appt. next week!. She even offered to call her hairdresser to squeeze me.
