Early UO anyone?

I was lurking on Sept 12 and they're doing UO today b/c of the holdays. Not sure if we're still doing it (too similar to FFFC?) Whatevs, I have one in mind:

I roll my eyes at people who insist on buying gluten-free groceries without any medical basis behind it. True celiac disease only affects like 2% of the population. I feel like it's a fad that makes people claim to be sensitive to gluten so they can appear to be special snowflakes who have to be on a restrictive diet. I highly doubt that many people would even know what gluten was if stuff wasn't proudly advertised as gluten-free nowadays.

I don't like sweet potato casserole. My husband is so excited that he's getting it on Thursday and I just don't understand the hubbub.

I love the newer remake of The Grinch. The original does have a very special place in my heart, and is certainly not replaced on the holiday viewing list by the new one. I just love them both!

I'm actually starting to like TB mobile. Aside from the missing siggies, which I still don't like at all, I appreciate the simpler format. When it was down the other day I was surprised to find myself annoyed.

I think a lot of entertainment geared toward kids is heinous. I really don't think it was this stupid when we were kids. I am going to work really hard to instill an appreciation for good programming and movies in my kids because ugh, the movies and shows that executives are making for kids are just mindless and not funny. LO will watch a lot of Pixar and Disney classics when he's older...

I think it's a bit crazy the way some people are going overboard for their LOs first Christmas in terms of gifts (my sister is one that springs to mind).

My DS will be 6 months. He won't have a clue as to what toys we bought him. I will pick him up a few things to "put under the tree" but that's it. I told my parents and my FILs not to go crazy and it would be best to put money in the bank accounts that they set up for him.

The only things DD is getting from us are Elf on a Shelf (to begin the tradition next year), a Baby's First Christmas ornament, a copy of The Night Before Christmas, and some Christmas pjs. Nothing big, and no other toys because I'm sure my mom has that handled.

I hate Nutella.

I don't think mustache humor is funny. I'm sick of all the mustache straws, necklaces, mugs, etc. I even know someone who got a mustache tattooed on his finger so he could hold it up. I think the joke needs to die.

I dont like Emery hanging out in a diaper only. I have no idea where this prudishness came from, bit its just too naked for me.
I also dont like her hanging out in jammies all day. She doesnt even know the difference, it just makes ME feel like a lazy person.

I'm piggy backing on RTaylor's UO and adding to it.

I can't stand when go to the grocery store to buy gluten free food someone has to make a remark about me trying to lose weight. I'm sick of explaining that my dad, sister and I have Celiac and if we eat gluten we can end up in the hospital. It sucks DS has a good chance of having it too.

Hahahaha! I love it! I call them slutsicles [for the bar hopping type] or the minus 30 minis! Seriously, your ugly ugg boots aren't going to keep you warm if you're rocking a mini skirt. Next time just wear flip flops with your winter jacket, you'll look just as ridiculous.

I don't wear them with skirts, but I totally wear Uggs during the winter like every day. That should probably be a FFFC. I'm Californian, we don't know any better!

I can name about 5 people right away who I know are guilty of this. So annoying.

Dont knock it till you try it girlfriend. I thought they were the ugliest shoes made in the universe. Then my mom got DH a pair sandal crocks. He has no arch, and said it was like walking on clouds.

During my 3rd tri when the only thing that fit were flip flops and my back was killing me and my feet were balloons, I broke down and bought a pair. I am now a convert. And I live in LA so I would never leave my house looking like a dork. No one can even tell they are crocs. Smile

See??? This is specifically why i didnt join the christmas exchange! Risk of mustached items! Haha, jk...it was cute. I guess it's the hipster mustache trend i hate. I just saw some wedding pics on FB where the bridal party came out w mustaches. Theyre gonna regret that in their album some day!! :::shaking fist:::

Wow. Ok, where to begin.....

AMEN on GF. My SIL is a stuck up snob over this and refuses to go to any restaurant that doesn't have a gf menu, and goes over the top making sure everyone knows she can't eat this or that because it has gluten. She is "self diagnosed" just because her little brother was officially diagnosed with Celiac. Thus, she is raising my nephew to be gf - that's going to bite her in the arse when he gets older. My MIL on the other hand has legit Celiac, and she eats at restaurants, but is careful about what she orders, she's not a snob about it. The whole issue just really burns my biscuits.

I hate Uggs and Crocs.

I don't see a problem with battery operated toys.

I hate sweet potatoes, and for the life of me cannot understand the love affair with green bean casserole.

The words "casserole" and "souffle" just sound like "nasty mush" to me, and thus, I don't eat anything called such.

I absolutely, positively cannot stand it that my brother and afore mentioned SIL are naming their second child Waylon. Why? Why would you do such a thing? DH said whenever we are around him, we'll just call him Steve.

Ha...I think I could abide it a little better if that's where they were getting it, but instead, they're getting it from Waylon Jennings, the old country singer - a not so good one at that (IMO)

I agree with all of this! I've picked up some books, but that's about it.

i dont know what UO means since ive never seen it on this board before but i'll just respond lol.

I over bought on Lilahs christmas gifts. Okay, not really. We got a excersaucer, violet the dog, some balls, some blocks, and bibs. Plus her stocking. I could careless. It's her first christmas. No she won't remember it, but I will. her scrapbook needs her first christmas. Same with her pic with Santa. Its a tradition I did growing up and its a tradition I want with her. I know its not a nessesity, but again Her scrapbook will be incomplete without it lol.

uggs and crocs are stupid. I dont care how comfy they are.

ummmm......there were others but I forget.
