I don't think a second opinion will do any good. They can surgically remove the additional skin, and brain that is no longer in the skull but they can't fix the damage. Her head is already lemon shaped which I guess is bad and the amount and area of brain affected leads them to believ she will need machines to assist in breathing and feeding, if she was to survive at all. We basically have three choices. End the pregnancy, deliver her and let an infection, hydrocephalus or restrict calories/hydration until nature takes it course or do the surgery have shunts put in and have her live in a mostly vegetative state for the rest of her life. This is heartbreaking for us and as much as I appreciate everyone's advice I don't want this to become a prolife or pro choice argument. I hope everyone can respect that at this time.

So sorry about the predicament you are in. Only you and your spouse can decide what's best for you and your family. Don't let anyone judge you for the decision you make. You are in my T&P.

I can't imagine ever having to make the decision that you are having to make. Never being in your shoes there is absolutely no judgement here.
Whatever you decide I know will be agonizing and I wish that you be surrounded by comfort and love and peace.
God bless you.

I can't even begin to imagine how one makes the kind of decision you have before you. All I can say is that I'm sure you will make the choice that is best for your daughter-- and that will no doubt make it the right choice in your heart as well.
Big, huge, ginormous hugs to you.
(And if anyone give you hell about your choice-- whatever choice it is-- you give me their address and I'll personally take them out of the equation. Because that would be so wrong on so many levels to judge you in any way.)
