Potty training

DD is # 4 for me but its been 15 years since I potty trained my last one and I remember thinking she would for sure go to kindergarden in diapers :)

DD turned 1 on Friday when she was 10 1/2 months she would pee on the floor when I took her diaper off while running her bath so I started putting her on the potty before bathtime. As time went on I would sit her on it before diaper changes and she would go. Its an eveyday thing now first thing in the AM and before bath and bed she goes on a regular basics. On Sunday night she pooped on the potty.

I am glad she has figured out what its for but she is still way to little to tell me she has to go. Do I just keep setting her on it or is she still to young?

Oh, I would definitely keep sitting her on it. If you stopped altogether, you'd have to reintroduce it at some point and that might not go as smoothly as you have it now. Since she's so young and you're not actively training, then don't push it. If she doesn't want to sit, then leave it alone. But if she wants to, great. If she actually goes on the potty, awesome. You're just one step ahead for when you actually start training.
This. We've done pretty much the same thing, and sometimes LO goes and sometimes not. But I think it will make it a lot easier when it's time to train and I won't have a kid who's scared of a toilet.

    This sounds good.

I haven't even considered putting DD on a toilet just for fun/practice...

But, FWIW, here's what was in the packet of 1 year info my pedi gave me re: toilet training:  "Ignore talk of toilet training your toddler until later.  Children do not have the nerve development at this age to consciously control the nerves that control the muscles that allow us to urinate or stool."  Obviously that last part is more about the "training" part of it, but I think getting used to the idea of a potty is a great one.  (Or certainly can't hurt (?) if your LO is excited to sit on it...)
