Hello everyone, I am taking over the MoMs to-be weekly check-in. I'm pretty new to TB all around, and will be a FTM, so please bear with me, I will do my best to keep up with everyone! I will post the check in every Monday (sorry for the delay this week). Please contribute whenever you can or when you have any news! I will read all updates before I post the next week, and will try to follow and post birth stories. PM me with any suggestions for QOTW, additions, changes, etc.

If I missed anyone's birth story from the past week, please let me know!

QOTW: My husband and I and our cockapoo, Teddy, will be driving four and a half hours to my parents' house, from Wednesday night to Sunday morning. My mom had surgery on her arm yesterday and can't lift anything, so it looks like DH and I will be doing all the cooking... I don't know if this will change next year with two babies, but I am hoping to convince my parents to come to us instead! DH is from the UK so his family doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving.

Qotw - we are staying home, hubby works thanksgiving day...all day.

My husband works retail and is expected to be at work at 8pm so he will sleep most of the day Thanksgiving and we will visit his Mom around 3pm. We are going to see my Mom on Friday.

Next year we will most likely have to split it again and go to both places with the twins!

Update: I had my a/s yesterday at 21w5d. All 3 boys are looking great and over 1lb each. The two IDs have higher than normal amniotic fluid, so I will now be having weekly u/s to check on that.

QOTW: Are you traveling for Thanksgiving, visiting family nearby, or just staying home? Will that change next year when your babies are here?

We had planned to visit my family, which is 3.5 hrs away, but then decided I'd be more comfortable at home, so they're coming by us this year. It's only my parents, sister, and her SO, so it's very casual. We'll then go to DH's family's house on Sunday, which is only 20 minutes away.

I'm hoping that we'll continue going to my parents' house next year once the babies are here. It's one of the few times that my grandma would get to see them throughout the year. We normally go Wednesday night or Thanksgiving morning and come back on Saturday so that we have time to relax before going to DH's parents' house on Sunday.

I am pretty new here, expecting twins 6/28 I will be having a repeat c section so I will have a set date eventually. I feel like a dummy but I don't know what all the the di-di, mono stuff means so I can't say what I am haha.

QOTW: We will go to my sister's where my mom will be cooking. Then my son and DH will go off to DH's family and I will go to work (assistant manager at Wal-Mart)

First time check in. I'm a FTM, we are expecting di/di twin boys May 11th with a CS scheduled for April 22nd.

QOTD: We are having Friends-Giving with our neighbors Thursday and then friday we fly out to Ft Lauderdale to go on a week long cruise in the Caribbean. It's DH's and I's 6th Caribbean cruise and likely the last one for several years. We are going to live this one up as much as we can being pregnant!

QOTW: We did our Thanksgiving early because my mom happened to be in town this past weekend. She lives in Africa, so this is only her 2nd Thanksgiving dinner in the past 4 years! It's her favorite holiday meal, so we couldn't miss the opportunity.

We will do a second Thanksgiving meal on Thursday where we spend a couple days with our godchildren and their parents.

I'm not sure what next year will look like yet. The twins will be about 6 months old by then, so we may be back at my godchildren's home again.

I am by no means an expert (yet) on being pregnant with multiples, but the mono/di, di/di, etc. stuff means whether your twins share an amniotic sac and/or placenta. (I think if you're having triplets, instead of "di" they would be "tri?") For twins, if they have separate sacs and placentas, they are di/di. If they share a placenta but have separate sacs, they are mono/di. And in rare cases that they share the sac and placentas (most risky type of multiples), they are mono/mono.

Update: I go in for my next u/s tomorrow. I hope that my boys look great and my cervix too. I am feeling really good for the most. Enjoying the ride while it lasts because I am sure that will come to an end.

QOTW: We are going to my aunt's house. I was supposed to fly to Chicago to be with my family for Thanksgiving, but my family preferred that I did not fly at this stage. My OB gave a Dec. 1st cut off for flying.

Next year, we have a family vacation with DH's side of the family planned for Aruba. So, us and the boys are going to Aruba next Thanksgiving.

QOTW: Both of our families live really close (mine is 10 min away and DH's is 25 min) so we usually try to finagle a way to see both. This year it's most likely that we'll hang out w/ my fam during the day and then have dinner w/ DH's fam, and then have a "leftovers" dinner w/ mine the next day. I don't know how things will be next year.....not sure how much running around we're gonna want to do w/ two 10ish-month-olds.....

Update - Not too much to report, I'm 16w 3d today. I was sent to the ER Friday for discordant swelling in my ankles. The checked for DVT, but it turns out that the 4.5 y.o. break I have in my ankle is causing the issue. So all good there Oh, and Zofran continues to be a miracle drug The headaches and constipation I could live without, but it beats throwing up after every meal.

QOTW: We will be hosting as usual this year. Smaller group than inthe past, which is nice. WHo knows what will happen next year? I usually host and probably will again as long as my MIL continues to come help out the week of. We'll have three kiddos by then... so strange to think that!

QOTW: We are traveling about 2 hours south to VA to have dinner with my father and his wife. Next year, people are coming to us if they want to see us. I hate to sound bitter, but I've been living 2 hours away from my family since 1998 and I can count on one hand how many times they have come up here to see me...next year I'll have leaverage/incentive for them to make the trip.

QOTW: Our families are local (well his family spends half the year in FLorida but will be moving up here full time in May). My family lives in the same town so holidays are really easy.

Hi - this is my first check in. I am due 6/5/12. H and I already have a 5 year old daughter.

QOTW: we will be going to SIL's for dinner. She and her family live about 40 minutes away. Usually MIL hosts and we bring a couple casserole's. This year we just have to bring pre-cooked coctail shrimp. I have to work and go to a wedding on Friday so I'm glad Thursday should be pretty relaxing.

We are staying in this year and having a small get-together. I LOVE to cook Thanksgiving dinner, so I'm going to rest between dishes and play the "how many contractions was that?" game, I'd imagine.

Getting so close now - can't wait to meet these boys!

Update: As of last Fri, I was 1-2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I go again tomorrow to both my OB and MFM. If the babies don't come on their own, I'll be induced on Dec. 5th. I was induced for my boys and my labors were fast so I'm nervous about not knowing I'm in labor and not making it to the hospital.

QOTW: We'll be in town. DH's brother is hosting this year. My mom is sick so we won't be able to see her or she would come with us. Nothing will change next year; we already have 2 boys so used to holidays with kids.

QOTW: I am not allowed to travel, but our family is local anyway so we will be spending time with them close to home.

Update: I had an u/s at my MFM and finally left with some good news! Both babies gained an entire pound in the past 2 weeks. She is 3lbs2oz and he is 3lbs14oz which puts her in the 39th percentile and him in the 70th. Their size difference is down to 20% and his kidneys are back within normal range. I could not be more relieved! I still have to go for weekly BPPs, but the fact that she had a growth spurt is exactly what we had been hoping for,

QOTW- We are having dinner at or house. About 14 people but everyone wanted to help and bring something so I don't have too much to cook. Next year will be the same with the babies.

Update: I had my MFM appointment Saturday. Baby B is 2 lbs 14 oz and Baby A is 2 lbs 4 oz. A is head down and B is breech. I hope B becomes head down because only two OBs in my office will deliver vaginally if B is breech. The rest automatically section. The OB also told me they will not let me go past 38 weeks, Jan 21, and has started talking about taking me out of work by Christmas.

sadly no I will not be traveling as I am too close to my due date . Next year I will totally be traveling again because my family will all but kill me if I don't show up with the new family members. lol.

Update; had my NST and fluid check today. Everything was great!

Update: I had food poisoning so I lost weight. My MFM is on my a$$ to gain a bunch of weight this month. Thank goodness for the holidays!

I am fairly new and was hoping to be added please. I am having twins and due July 8th but they said more likely June 24th.

QOTW: Everyone is coming to us. I am torn on whether I want to venture out next year or do the cooking again and have everyone come to us.
