feeling a little down today

We were supposed to be spending Thanksgiving with my family this year, and we were going to fly down tomorrow night.  But DD ended up in the hospital over the weekend so we decided to cancel our trip.  We won't be able to go to my family for Christmas, as DH's sister and her family are coming in town.  So this will be 2 years that we won't spend the holidays with my family (we were here last year with a newborn!).  

It just makes me sad that I'll miss out on all the festivities with my family and 4 little nephews.  Does anyone else want to comiserate with me?  What's getting you down today?

    That sucks! I'm sorry DD was sick. I hope she's feeling better! It sucks that you will miss the holidays with your family.

    Awwwww!!!  I'm so sorry your DD was in the hospital!  :(  I hope she is doing better.  I'm feeling down enough having a super congested child.....I imagine you must be feeling worse.  I'm so sorry, Momma!

    And I'm sorry you are missing out on something you were so looking forward to.  Do you guys have skype or something similar?  Last Christmas when I was away from my family, we talked a little on skype (we got my mom an ipad just so she could do such a thing) and it was nice to talk to her "face to face" and see the family Christmas tree in the background.
