Have you ever had a day when there was lots of stuff going on and lots you needed to get done, and you kept working and going and going and going until you were so exhausted it was all you could do not to collapse into a rubbery heap, and your last coherent thought was along the lines of "&#^@, I've overextended myself and now I'm going to pay?"?
Yeah, that was me today. Ergo the lateness of this post. Sorry about that. Had my A/S this morning and the MFM's exact summation was, "Everything looks terrific." I couldn't have been happier. And then DH and I went to lunch, and I washed dishes, and I called my parents to relay all the good news, and I made a grocery list and went shopping and bought a new toner cartridge and went to Macy's maternity sale and got 2 blouses and tried on every pair of pants in the store to get 2 pair that fit (buy 3 items get 1 free!) and somewhere around the toner cartridge I realized I was so done. Oops.
Let us all resolve to get a little rest this week. On to the check-in!

Re: PG>35 Weekly Check-In (Oops, We Have Limits Edition)
I am so glad to hear that your A/S went so well~! YAY!
I hear you about overextension- I've just now as I'm typing this finished cleaning for today. I've left a few clothes ironing/hanging and a little dusting for tomorrow morning> I think I'm officially and legally insane.
QOTW: OTHER THAN your family (including your bun in the oven), your friends, and your health, what are you most grateful for? In looking at the big picture, I really have nothing to complain about- my life is full of simple pleasures, which really, at the end of the day, are what life is all about. Without forcing it, every ideal/dream I've had for my life has had a way of transpiring and I consider myself very lucky and blessed indeed. I am also mindful that I need to pay it forward in any way that presents itself.

Feeling pooped from overdoing it and generally fat and gross. And I'm only halfway thru! I need to get over this phase of negativity. Have our level2 A/S next Thurs at 3:30 ET- doc said everything looked good, but we were in there at 17w5d and she wants a better investigation of the heart(I'll be 21w5d at 2nd A/S).
On a happy note- all baby's furniture is going to be delivered this Wed! So, while my dad is in town for Tgiving- he and DH can have a bonding moment over furniture construction (thanks Ikea!
) I'm looking forward to it all coming together. We painted, cleaned the carpet and hung curtains this last week. So, it will look almost finished by the time we get done this week! Eek!
QOTW: OTHER THAN your family (including your bun in the oven), your friends, and your health, what are you most grateful for?
I am grateful that this really has been a easy pregnancy. Never felt sick just tired. LO has been doing really well the whole time. I am grateful for my dog, Charlie Bear, of course he is part of the family.

LO is still breech. planning on a c-section. Feeling big and uncomfortable. 2 weeks until we meet LO!
QOTW: OTHER THAN your family (including your bun in the oven), your friends, and your health, what are you most grateful for?
Thankful that this Thanksgiving, both DH and I have jobs that we enjoy going to everyday. We are thankful for being able to buy a house, 4 years ago it seemed like everything was going downhill for us, I was unemployed, DH's job didn't pay much. Today we are in much better place financially, and all that experience showed us that we are stronger than we think.
QOTW: I am grateful for my job. I make a good salary that allows me to provide better for this baby than I thought would be possible based on how I grew up. It has a really good on-site daycare so my girl can come to work with me and they will even let me go feed her during the day. I have had a ton of appointments over the past few years and no one has complained. I did a complete career switch 10 years ago and it was the best move I ever made.
Updates and vents: My OB has made me high risk and I am staying high risk thorugh out the rest of the pregnancy. The good part is that now I get ultrasounds every 4 weeks. I really like the reassurance of seeing her and knowing she is still healthy. I had an ultrasound Friday and the placenta previa has resolved.
DH put the crib together last night. He did the changing table last week so this nursery is really starting to come together.
QOTW: OTHER THAN your family (including your bun in the oven), your friends, and your health, what are you most grateful for?
My sobriety and my sanity.

Had a trip to L&D on Sunday due to spotting. All is well and we are so happy about that. I got to see my little girl on U/S and she is getting big! The doctor pointed out hair which was really cool!
Wow sounds like a busy day but congrats on your great a/s! I plan on getting lots of rest this long weekend too, can't wait.
QOTW: Its hard to say I'm thankful for anything without mentioning my husband. I am just so lucky to have him and cannot imagine my life and this journey without him. Aside from that I am thankful for stable jobs and financial stability during this difficult economic time.
Updates: nothing much to report this week, I will have some appointments next week. I'm excited to have hit 18 weeks and to see lots of family for Thanksgiving, cannot wait for the food!

This is tough... I'm just grateful, in general, for all those things above and also for the all the little things in my life. It may sound cheesy but I really do love my life, as messy and imperfect as it is. This week I'm grateful that my trainline is more or less back to normal so that I don't have to take a 2-hour bus to work like I have been for the past several weeks!

Not much... I am finding that I have less patience for listening to certain coworkers who make a gigantic deal out of inconsequential problems. I'm usually great at smiling and nodding, but these days I've had to fight the urge to just cut her off and leave in mid-sentence. Thank goodness for the long weekend!

Balaustine: an anthology about wanting family
So glad everything looks good with your AS danuli!
UPDATE:
I really have nothing to update other than I made it through Monday Night Football last night! The Niners played great and it wasn't cold like I thought it would be. The tail gating was fun. Our seats were good. I got to see my brother who was there with some friends and my stomach felt normal!! Other than no beers, it felt like I wasn't even PG!
QOTW:
I am thankful that my DH and I both have college educations that are paid off. I am thankful that we both found great paying jobs in our home town, 5 minutes from our house, so we don't have to commute like 75% of our town does. I am thankful that I love to read. I am VERY thankful that I was born when I was so I can have running water in my house (with a toilet that flushes), electricity is also nice and telephones. I am also thankful for modern medicine and IVF otherwise I probably wouldn't be a mom today.
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving ladies!!
JM
QOTW: OTHER THAN your family (including your bun in the oven), your friends, and your health, what are you most grateful for? I am most thankful for a job that keeps a roof over our heads, lets us replace a dead car with a decent one and makes this whole affording a kid thing possible.
Share your updates and vents: I had a regular OB appointment today and everything looked good - bp was right at normal, no weight gain and Nugget was hanging out right where I told the OB he/she would be, with a HB of 150. I go back in 4 weeks and get an early GTT - yay for being AMA.

QOTW: I am thankful for my job's 12 hour shifts-- even though they hurt during them because i don't get a nap and have to wake up at the crack of @ss, I get a ton of days off in between! I'm also thankful for awesome "nap blanket" that my friend bought me for my birthday. It keeps me warm when I fall asleep on the couch in the middle of ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Update: I'm 12 weeks today! My m/s came back a bit today, but not like before. I just hope I can make it through the lasagna on Thursday! Next week, I have my MaterniT21 test. I'm starting to get a little nervous, actually...

QOTW: I too am thankful for my job......I went back to school a couple of years ago to do nursing and I now have a mon-fri job working in community care which works perfect with my two older kids and school and activites. I am thankful for our house and the little things we can afford to do.......
Update: the nausea is horrid!!!! I go back and forth from, I feel great to I never want to eat again....and usually in the span of one meal. I had my first midwife appointment last week and will have my first ultrasound the week before christmas.....looking forward to that!!!!
Karen - 36 DH - 39
Updates: I had my monthly checkin and all is going smoothly. Glucose test next Wednesday - ugh. This week we also had our hospital tour (so great) and picked a pediatrician - whew!
QOTW: I'm a "count your blessings every day" kind of person, so I see so much around me and in my life to be grateful for. Today though, tops is that I don't fly anywhere for Thanksgiving. Stopped flying home to my parents in college and it was the best decision ever. We now spend it with my DH's family and it's delightful and travel-stress free!
QOTW: OTHER THAN your family (including your bun in the oven), your friends, and your health, what are you most grateful for?
I am grateful for my career (which I love) and my neighborhood - we have amazing neighbors and friends, and its a convenient place to live.
Share your updates and vents:
I had an emergency c-section at 34.5 weeks (10/29/12) for premature rupture of membranes. Baby still in the NICU, but doing much better and probably going to be discharged home after the Thanksgiving holiday. And I'm grateful for the fact that we don't live too far from the hospital!

That today was my last day of work for 8 weeks. Now I get to be home getting things ready for LO's arrival next Tuesday.

~All AL'ers welcome~
OH MY WORD - it has been a week. I got a terrible head/chest cold; 7yo DS developed a random abscess on his leg that turns out is freaking MRSA - heavy meds & attention to treat it; 2yo DS started vomiting Tues afternoon and just now (frid am) is the first time he's been able to eat - he's so skinny; and at my size ultrasound Wed afternoon it was confirmed that The Baby was breech - but I think after a long walk last night, it feels like he turned. I have hiccups in my bladder again (any T&P you could spare that he'll stay that way would be wonderful).
Talk about over doing it. I am exhausted. I called my mom briefly yesterday morning to say Happy Thanksgiving (we canceled it here), and when she said her sister had told her we were all sick, I just started sobbing - and I'm not much of a crier, especially with my mom cause it upsets her.
Junebug, I am so sorry. Sending love and peace your way and hoping you will be back with us for the long haul soon.
Over-40 parents...what we lack in vigor, we make up for with cunning.

I'd say my job. That I have one.

I haven't checked in in weeks! So, I'm having another GIRL! Still feeling OK. Heartburn, nasty cold, general heaviness. But really, I feel GREAT! LOL. Tough time keeping my blood sugars in check so I'm pretty sure I'll be going on fast acting insulin with meals. I've been on longer acting insulin for several months now.
