Hello everyone,
I am only in the middle of my second trimester but I am trying to figure out what stuff I will need. I will be on maternity leave for the first year of my baby's life (gotta love Canada for that). I plan on breastfreeding - assuming everything goes well. I bought a single breasted pump to pump for when I am not home so others can feed the baby or so that my husband can do some early morning feedings on the weekend.
I am just wondering how many bottles should we have on hand when the baby is born if for the most part I plan on breastfeeding.
thanks
Re: how many bottles needed if breastfeeding???
I don't like washing bottles or pump parts every night, so I have probably about 10. I just use the simple Medela ones that came with my pump, and purchased extras. I take four with me to work to pump, four are used during the day, and I have a few extras. I also have an extra set of pump parts, it just makes it easier to throw everything in the dishwasher, which is run a few times a week.
I have 6 I left 2 at daycare. I wouldn't worry about stocking up on bottles just yet they recommend not introducing a bottle until about 4-6 weeks your LO might have suffer from nipple confusion if you introduce bottle or pacifier to soon. I would defiantly recommend Kellymom.com they have great info on breastfeeding.
Good Luck and congrats on your Little one!
