What makes a good or bad day?

I know that nobody can answer this for me, but I would like to know that I am not alone.  Yesterday was a VERY rare day that my little guy slept in until 7!  He was in a great mood all day long, took a good nap, played, laughed, smiled!  Then this morning he was up at 5:30 and wouldnt go back to sleep (closer to usual wake up time) and was constantly whining and had the "pick me up, put me downs" all morning long until I dropped him off at DC at 7.  I know that there are sooo many things that factor into this, but I wish I could crack the code of what makes a good mood day and what makes a bad mood day.  Ugh!!!

  • Well, what makes you have a good day or bad day? I think it's close to the same for babies and children (of course on a more simple level). Influences like not sleeping well or enough, up set stomach/gas, teething, growth spurt. When my DS was younger, he would sleep quite well before he was getting sick or starting a growth spurt. Then the following week he would sleep badly, which would attribute to his fussiness and want for extra comfort.

What time do you put your LO down for the night?

  • I usually have him down for the night at 7:15 after our bedtime routine.  He has been sleeping all night long.  And most days I can get two 1 hours naps out of him.  He has been a picky eater lately, and at his 9 and 1 month checks up's his pedi said that his molars were coming in, but I havent seen anything yet.  Its just one of those things I guess.  There is just a huge difference from day to day and I wish I could keep him happy all of the time!

I think we all wish that of our LOs. What I have found with teething is that it's a gradual cycle process. LO will be uncomfortable for up to a week and then everything is fine for 2-3 weeks until the teeth actually break the surface.
