Hi,
I went in for my first embryo transfer this morning. I turn 32 tomorrow and have an amh .50...My RE was really surprised that out of my 4 that fertilized I had two grade 1aa "perfect" hatching blasts ready to transfer. I also had a morula too (that had fertilized late) that they will keep growing and hopefully be able to freeze tomorrow. I am trying to remain positive but it is hard not to start the "what iffing" The main reason I am worried is that last ivf I did pgd - 7 embryos were biopsied and only 2 were genetically normal. The 2 normals however were also of the worst quality. Last cycle I did not have any day 5 hatching blasts of the best quality though, so I am hoping these have a much better shot at being normal. I almost did the pgd again on them before the transfer but my RE recommended against it so we just went for it. Do you guys think that at least one of these is going to stick? I am praying so hard for this. This has definitely been one of the most stressful experiences ive ever had! My doctor says my ovaries are not predictable that I could have one cycle with all healthy embyros and the next with all abnormals. He compares me to a 45 year old. It is just so shocking to hear!

I share your concerns about PGS. We did it with IVF 1 and 2 (round 2 we had 0 normals out of 4, so nothing to transfer). So, I definitely know where you are coming from. This time, I don't think we're going to do it though. I am afraid that the PGS science may not be completely ready for prime time use. I have had one RE tell me he stopped doing it, saying that "we know developing embryos may push abnormal cells to the outside" and basically have normal cells growing where the baby is developing. Also, there are studies about embryos "self-correcting." I don't want to lose any embryos that may have a chance, so I am really thinking this time we won't do it.
One of my good friends transferred two non-PGS embies and got beautiful twin girls out of it. She later did another round w/ PGS and had no luck. Just one story, but obviously many people (most people) do not do PGS and have BFP.
I think you should take your beautiful hatching blasts and hope they stick!! GL!!
