Birthday Party and Super Bowl

We are starting to plan DSs birthday party for Feb and the only day that really works with DHs work schedule is Super Bow Sunday. Do you think that would be a problem for families? We'd have the party from 11am-1pm so there would still be plenty of time for families to get to other SB parties etc. Thoughts?

Re: Birthday Party and Super Bowl

  • Bad idea. That would make a crazy day for many people.

  • Unless you have a family party or something and just make it a combo S-bowl and b-day, I wouldn't do it.

  • It wouldn't bother us at all but we're not a tv sports family.

  • I don't think that would be a good idea. You may not have a very good turnout.

This. Unless our local team was in the SB, it wouldn't affect our plans at all.

  • Doesn't the SB come on TV at 8 pm?

I'm not sure how morning party would affect people's plans that much.

This is what I was thinking. 11-1 would work for us. Later in the afternoon could be an issue. Even if I were hosting a party, I would love for DD to get out of the house for a while so I could prep for the party (assuming H would take her).

  • My idiot SIL did this two years in a row and it ticked me off.  I'm not even that into football.
  • It wouldn't bother me personally but I know DH might be annoyed. I'd probably end up taking DD myself if he didn't want to go.
