Good evening, everyone! I don't know about you, but I am glad the election is over so I can get some sleep and stop seeing all those vile campaign commercials (I live in Ohio and it was wall-to-wall campaign stuff from morning till night. Makes me want to move to Wyoming!).
If I could go anywhere for a pre-baby vacay, I think I would go to Germany. My husband is German and has lots of family there, and I haven't been in 3 years. I was planning a trip for this winter/spring, but oopsie, I will be too far along to fly at that point.
I am so happy to see all the good news that has been posted about gender reveals, and Animeg2+1 has become our first reported November mom! However, on a sad note, you might want to go back and read the very last messages in last week's check-in thread. Sending tearful hugs to OrangeandGreen.
Without further ado, I bring you the garbled formatting crap that marks the beginning of the check-in!

sex of baby (if known, or will it be a surprise?): unknown for now!
QOTW: What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions that you hope to pass down to your baby?
Just having all the family come together for a great traditional turkey dinner! Also my "cranberry compote" recipe that has recently become a hit...I will pass that one on for sure!
Share your updates and vents:
Just had my 12 week u/s, first scan of the sequential screening/NT scan. The NT numbers were really good, and a nasal bone was present, which the u/s tech said was very good. I am very relieved. It was so, so good to see the baby's heart beat and move around!! Next thing to worry about is what my bloodwork for the sequential screening says.
QOTW: My mom's family is Italian-American, so our Thanksgiving dinners take 8 hours and I tend to ignore the turkey and double up on the lasagna during the pasta course. We only get lasagna twice a year (Thanksgiving and Easter). I definitely want to share that aspect of Thanksgiving with my children. The whole feast around a huge table with my grandparents (96 and 97), aunt, uncle, cousins, and whatever friends have nobody else to spend the holiday with-- it all cements the bonds that sometimes get tenuous with distance. And I love that the turkey isn't the main focus of the meal-- it's just a part of a huge bounty of food that takes the whole family to cook (everyone has their own part to prepare). So much to thankful for.
Update/Vent: I am tenuously saying that my morning sickness may be over! I have spent the last day without my seabands or Zofran-- and Sunday only required them at night and I think that was because I overate. We shall see, but I'm feeling optimistic.

QOTW: What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions that you hope to pass down to your baby? We generally travel at Thanksgiving and stay home at Christmas b/c our family is so spread out. So, I'm looking forward to taking baby to Chicago and showing them around when they get old enough.
Share your updates and vents: At week 19.5 here and doing well, belly getting bigger every day. Have another U/S on 11/28 b/c PN wanted another good look at the heart.
QOTW: What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions that you hope to pass down to your baby?
We like to go around the table and say what we are thankful for. Not too exciting but I tradition I truly enjoy.

I was supposed to have an appt. on Monday but the office called to reschedule until 11/26 so my OB could schedule some surgery. I was disappointed but whatcha gonna do...say no?!
Agreed, so glad the election is over and all the ads and constant phone calls have come to a stop! Also I'm so sorry to see Orange's update, t&p to her.
QOTD: We don't always do the same thing on Thanksgiving since we have 3 sides of family. We switch it up to either going to one side or hosting ourselves but its always filled with family and food and good memories that I want to pass on. I love to get up and watch the Macy's parade. Oh and we usually watch Christmas Vacation that night, we love it!
Updates: I got the final results of the quad screen and my numbers were great. I'm just counting down until my a/s in a couple weeks.
BFP #1 - missed m/c 4.18.11 found @8w3d, d&c @13w
BFP #2 blighted ovum found 8.2011 @8w, misoprostol
BFP#3 - missed m/c 6.11.12 @ 9w3d, d&c revealed extra chromosome 15
BFP#4 8.10.12, DD born 4/26/13
QOTW: Something bad has happened to me every Thanksgiving except for last year. Hopefully the new tradition is that we don't share Thanksgiving with police, paramedics, or the fire department. The first year that we were married we took the train to NYC for the parade. It was so perfect that I don't want to go again because it can't possibly be as good. We watch the parade while I cook and reminisce about how wonderful it was. I would like to continue that when the baby is here.
Updates/vents: I was doing so well and then I failed Friday's doctor's appointment. He is more concerned about things than the nephrologist. I am on limited activity including pelvic rest and fluid restrictions. The doctor told me that I will likely be on hospitalized bed rest starting at 30 weeks. That means that I really only have 6 weeks to get ready for this baby, just in case. I am hoping that he is wrong and am still planning on working up until my due date.
DH put the changing table together this weekend. I am hoping that the crib is assembled this week. We are going to order the glider this week. One we get that, we can put up the decorations on the walls and her room will be all ready for her. I love to go into her room and just look.
QOTW: What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions that you hope to pass down to your baby?
Silly but I like that we have everyone go around the table and say one thing they are thankful for.
Share your updates and vents: I am tired of people saying oh just you wait until you have the baby you wont be doing that anymore or going there. Those things will stop. Hey we understand we wont be just picking up and going like we have been doing but we can still go out to dinner, take turns trying to sleep in etc... Let us figure out our own routine.
Glad the election is over, but mostly just having a rough month, my father passed away a week and a half ago and just getting back to town after all of his services and spending time with family.
QOTW: What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions that you hope to pass down to your baby? Usually we stay in town for thanksgiving and get together with friends. This year, we will be traveling to visit my family and hope to share our happy news!
Share your updates and vents: Starting to feel kind of crappy some, breasts are sometimes unbearably sore and nausea and headaches.
~~~BFP 10/9/12, EDD 6/17/13~~~
Many thoughts and prayers go out to OrangeandGreen.
QOTW: Since I was not born in this country, I never grew up celebrating Thanksgiving. I don't think I even had turkey until I had a boyfriend in my early 20's and he invited me over for Thanksgiving. So no real traditions yet.
Update: I had my CVS last week which revealed two normal babies, a boy and a girl! I had my regular OB appt today, which was anti-climactic per my OB since I just had my CVS last week. First cervix check with my MFM next week.
Expecting Boy/Girl Twins! My babies were born 4/23/13 at 36w1d!
QOTW - I hope to continue to spend as much time with family over the holidays as possible - even if travel makes for some long days. Luckily it is only driving for us and no flying.
Update - Regular checkup on Thursday and we will be scheduling my glucose test. Hope that goes well. Still knitting away on the baby blanket - about 2/3 done now. And we have started to set up the nursery including putting together the crib my dad made for grandbaby #1 16 years ago - the tradition continues.
Correction: My EDD is 1/15/2013 (not 1/5).
I just love getting the entire family together for a huge home-cooked meal. Over time my family has gotten really small but DH has a huge family so I can't wait to be able to have everyone over to our place! Now... if we can just find a home with enough room for everyone...
