I am bringing mashed potatoes (all the stuff to make them there) and squash. My friend just bought a farm with a couple of other people and we are going up there to eat with about 25 other people we've never met. My friend was telling me that there will be a few kids there and that they can all play in the basement of their 1789 stone farmhouse...uh, probably not. I don't think a 13 month old, a three year old and a couple of 5 year olds should be unsupervised in a walk-out basement with stone floors and walls and wood burning stove, but that is just my opinion.

That sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving and a cool house too. I must agree with you though that I wouldn't want my 13 mo running around in a basement unsupervised with older kids. Maybe you can let her go play with them for awhile and supervise them while she is with them. I hope you all have a great time!
I am cooking ..... at my IL's house....GIVE ME STRENGTH! Last year, my MIL decided to order Thanksgiving from a local grocery store, so this year I am schlepping everything up to their house and will be cooking everything. I'm sure a large bottle of wine will do the trick.
I voted SS. We are hosting thanksgiving at our house. DH is doing the turkey, stuffing and gravy. I'm doing a pumpkin pie, deviled eggs, veggies and dip, corn, cranberry sauce, biscuits, and little things.
Other people are bringing the sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, drinks, and more desserts.
I voted side or pie, but we are technically making 2 sides plus a pie (mashed potatoes, green bean caserole, and apple pie). We are traveling 4 hours to upstate NY (near the Finger Lakes) to spend 4 days with MH's extended paternal side of the family -- none of whom have met Gavin yet so I'm really excited! We'll be at a cabin on a lake which is always so pretty. Plus, I really like his family. Can't wait!

We are going to my FILs house. My one SIL and BIL will be doing most of the cooking. I am making a lasagna (because other SIL is a vegetarian) and green bean casserole. I might bake a pecan pie too, but I think they have a lot of dessert planned already.
