I need help deciding on the color of furniture for the new baby's room and I need to decide today so I can order the furniture and get $300 off from Babies R Us.
So this furniture would go in a room that has orange type wood floors - ya know, the standard color for wood floors. We plan to do the nursery lavender, w/ accents of white and gray.
We saw in the store, color # 1 (https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12369765) and LOVED it, however, I just don't think it will match well with the wood floor coloring. Also, I think it will hard to find matching accessories with this color like a glider (which I MUST have this time...I spend a lot of time on Penelope's rocking chair and it is not very comfy).
I default to white furniture bc I love white - it is traditional and will go with everything. BUT my LO (girls) room is white and I have learned that white furniture shows every single nick/baby teething marks show bad. Online someone reviewed it saying it is an off white, not a white white.
And lastly espresso - it gives us a different color scheme, hopefully hides marks better but i am worried that the dark furniture will make the already small room feel smaller.
which color do you think would go best ?
Re: Which color furniture?
We originally ordered white for DD but the order got screwed up so last minute we had to purchase a different set in a completely different color. It's a very dark color - almost black, but not quite. I like it, but wish we had originally gotten our white. Her room is semi small and the dark furniture makes it look smaller.
I personally would do something of a lighter color.
We have a small room with wood floors that we did in lavendar and white accents also.. great minds! We finally ordered our set today - white.
One thing to keep in mind, BRU doesn't always have everything in stock! We tried to buy ours last Wednesday, and they told us it wasn't in stock and the earliest they could even place an order for it was 5 weeks, and then it would be another 2-3 weeks until the store receives it... Which didn't work for our timetable at all! Weird thing is, BRU had it available online, but ONLY with the home shipping option, which would be $300+ and completely eliminate any value gained with their sale. We ended up ordering at Bambi Baby, and they gave us a seriously great deal.
