I was planning on not finding out the sex of our baby, but now I'm not so sure! This is our third and final child. We have 2 boys and I have had two c-sections. When you have a c-section you get just a few minutes to see the baby before they see you up and send you to recovery, I think for 1 hr. I figure if I get the surprise of the gender at birth, it'd give me even more excitement while in recovery! Ya know?
but, I've been browsing through baby stuff and am not at all happy with the neutral clothing..
I love shopping and want to be prepared for baby. Husband wants to find out but I'm still trying to hold on to team green!!
Re: Is anyone planning on going team green?
We are team green this time around (#4) I love the excitement of finding out right when you meet baby! But it is so much fun to plan and find out while baby is still inside (we found out with #3) good thing you have a few weeks to decide!
We plan to go Team Green all the way! Neither of us have any interest in knowing beforehand. I don't care about gender-coordinated clothes or "nursery" items and I love a good surprise. Plus I don't want people to bug me about the name beforehand.
That said, it's already a little weird trying to refer to the baby - "he or she" gets old, but I don't want to just pick one, and I feel bad using "it". Guess we're in for nine months of awkwardness.

ETA: i want to hear MH say "It's a ...." in the delivery room. Plus, he said he's excited to greet everyone in the waiting room with the news!

FMIL is a labor and delivery nurse, and she swears that women who don't find out the gender ahead of time do better during labor. Not sure if that's true or not, but I figured it's worth a go!

we are finding out, for 3 reasons
1. dh wants to know
2. if this baby is a girl- i want to do dds big girl room to accomodate them sharing down the road (dd is still in her nursery)
3. if its a boy- i need to shop!
I'm so torn.
I love the idea of a surprise, having DH announce it to me and our families and not having an abundance of pink or blue things given to us.
But I also have no patience, would love to decorate the nursery with items that aren't gender neutral and get used to the idea that it's going to be a boy or girl before it arrives.
I have no idea.

There are three reasons for breast-feeding: the milk is always at the right temperature; it comes in attractive containers; and the cat can't get it. ~Irena Chalmers
This is me exactly!!!! I loved it being a surprise, and having my husband tell me "It's a boy" the moment he came out
With DS1 my DH said, It's a boy. With DS2 and DS3 I could see as soon as they came out, but I think the Dr. said it those times. I agree though, that moment is priceless after all that work!
