Re: *** weight loss checkin***
I have 16 lbs left to get to my weight I was at before I got pregnant the first time.
i have about 21 lbs until my goal weight.
I have made it out on walks with Raylan in the carrier I think at least 3-4 times this week, I also made it to the gym today and did 30 min on the elliptical.
Its hard to feel like I'm getting in a good workout during the week. Walks are great, but not going to get me to my goal. If I were to workout after DH gets home I would hardly see him at all. I need to attempt jogs with Raylan, I'm just paranoid he will cry in the middle of it and I will have to stop and be frustrated...but I think I just need to go for it.

I should really join this, but I don't want to write these numbers down! Here goes...
I'm down .5 lb from pre-pregnancy weight, and have been here for a month and a half.
Still 26.5 lbs to goal weight. Well, really 5 lbs to first goal, 10 to second goal, etc. And if I'm honest, my real goal is about 35 lbs but I think my chances of getting there are small.
Accomplishments: Um...I ate broccoli tonight? Last week was my first week back at work (3 days/week) so I was just trying to keep everyone in the house fed, clean and clothed. Good nutrition was NOT an accomplishment.
Frustrations: Lots. For some reason I'm struggling much more with body image this time around. And I went shopping for work pants today - awful. I've been doing a lot of emotional eating, mostly sugar and other simple carbs. DH chides me whenever I talk about dieting right now because he and I both know my milk supply will tank and I'll freak out, but I hate looking like this. What I really need to do is eat more nutritious calories, not empty ones, but that's where the emotional eating kicks in. Oh, and PCOS. Ugh! Enough whining for one check-in?
Great idea, Petunia! I've got 8 lbs. until my pre-baby weight (gained 32), but I was about 10 lbs. heavier than I like when I got pregnant, so, I'd really like to lose 18 lbs. The weight loss so far is purely hormonal/BFing, and I eat everything under the sun, so I need to get serious about exercising.
We renewed our membership to the Y over the weekend, so if I can get over my fear of leaving DD with the Child Watch (they'll just watch your kids, basically, while you're working out as part of your membership), I'm hoping I can sneak a workout in once or twice a week.
I'm trying not to allow myself to get frustrated. It's the holidays, BFing makes me constantly hungry, and I don't want to jeopardize my supply by fretting too much over my weight. But it's hard, for sure. I look at my body and it doesn't look like mine... though some of that for sure has to do with the natural redistribution of things that happens after carrying a baby for nearly ten months!
Accomplishments this week none, went back to work full time and have been struggling with my emotions. I was working out or at least walking almost everyday but now that I'm working again I don't know when I will find time.

We did this at our Y for quite a while with DD, and it was great. I know each Y is different but I was very happy with how this worked out at ours. DD got some socializing, I got a little quiet workout time, everybody wins. I did talk to some moms who used the Child Watch at our Y first, and I went in and talked to the caretakers there before leaving her, but I felt comfortable with them and we had a good experience. And in a weird way, it encouraged me to work out longer than I would have otherwise; having a time limit (I think it was an hour at our gym) made me want to take advantage of the whole hour rather than quitting after 30 or 40 minutes. Good luck, I hope it works for you!
Great idea Petunia!
Lets see - I have about 15 lbs to lose till I get to my PP weight, which for now is my goal. I haven't given much thought on how I'll lose the weight, I guess I'm hoping that BF will magically do it. It might take a while, but I'm glad that winter is coming and I don't have to worry about being in shorts or bathing suits.
(OK, funny side story, I was looking at a picture of DD on the beach this summer - sadly a beach that has been ruined by hurricane sandy - and I thought to myself "who is that big lady?" Um yeah, it was me, 8 months pregnant. My thighs were enormous).
Anyway - my diet is very restricted right now - trying to determine if DS has milk/soy/veggie intolerance in my breastmilk. So I'm eating very bland. Honestly I don't have much of an appetite which is strange b/c with DD I was ravenous. I really hope DS's gassiness/reflux has to do with my oversupply and not b/c of food. I miss milk in my cereal, I miss broccoli and beans, I miss ice cream the most!
M/C Nov 9, 2011 at 11 weeks.... We love you & miss you
Oh, thanks for sharing this! I figured I would just stop in and see how I felt about them first. Right now DD isn't mobile, so it's not that she's necessarily in any danger, I'm just scared of leaving her with a stranger. But you're totally right about the time limit... I hope it will be a motivator!
I've been walking with dd a couple times a week, but I'm afraid to work put too intensely and kill my milk supply. I've heard workouts and cutting calories can affect supply.
Thanks for starting the check in. I already feel like I need to be more responsible with my food intake. But Thanksgiving is this week, so I may not have a great report next week :]
Hope you all have a good week!
I'll play!
I have 12lbs left to go to my pp weight. I had finally gotten to my ultimate goal weight a few months before I got pg, so I would really like to get back there. Honestly I'd be happy with losing 6-7lbs, though. My weight loss has been pretty slow latley. I gained 47lbs while pg and lost 27 right after giving birth. In the last four months, though, I've only been able to loose 8lbs. I keep reminding myself that I would rather loose weight slowly than not at all, but I was really hoping to be almost to my goal weight by now.
I really enjoy running, but have zero time to do it except for on the weekends. Durring the week I would have to give up my time with DD to have time to exercise, and that's just not something I'm willing to do. I get to spend so little time with her as it is because of work, and she's getting so big already, I don't want to miss anything more than I have to!

This time I'm not leaving without you.
I agree with PP - thanks for starting this thread
How many pounds do you have left u til your pre-baby weight? 25 lbs. I had gained 50 lbs (a lot of it was water retention, and swelling, I swear). And just weighed myself, after finally noticing that my feet are back down to a normal size (a sight I hadn't seen since I was six months pregnant, ha!). So I guess initial delivery weight loss, plus some water retention weight loss there. Certainly not from exercising, since my LO is attached to only wanting to sleep on my boob . . .
How many pounds until your goal? Honestly, I gained 25 lbs. after my m/c (though some of that was also from before I got pregnant - too scared to exercise, once I knew I was trying to get pregnant). So frankly, I'd like to loose fifty total - so I could be back to my wedding-day weight
But for now, I'm focusing on solely eating healthy and beginning a new exercise routine, to loose the pregnancy weight - anything after that, is gravy ;D
What are your accomplishments this week? Just managing to recover from delivery and a second degree tear. Finally starting to not need the ibuprofen and tylenol as much - but I am thinking of what I want to my new routine to be. So I'm inching my weigh off the bed/chair, slowly but surely!
Frustrations this week? Everytime I go to the bathroom, I'm stuck in bed or in a chair for several hours after - my body still needs a bit more time. Plus, the last three days, my LO has had some bad gas, and slow BM's, so he only wants Mama's boob as comfort pillows 24/7 (not really conducive to getting anything done around the house, much less for myself ~ oh well, hopefully soon!)
Maybe next week I'll have better things to report

Thanks for posting this, I need to be more accountable.
I am back to pre-baby weight exactly, but definitely not at goal. I'm 19 lbs over my weight when I got married, so that is my next milestone.
I'm ashamed to say I have no great accomplishments. BFing makes me hungry all the time. I really need to get back to exercising.
All the holiday food is hard to say no to! It seems like everywhere I turn someone has brought is yummy goodies from home.
