Mine won't drink it at all. We don't have our 1 year well baby until Nov 28, so I haven't had a chance to talk to the pediatrician. I don't think it's that big of a deal because she still nurses quite a bit when we're together and is a champion solids eater. But, all she will drink at daycare is water. She won't drink pumped milk out of a sippy or bottle, otherwise, I'd just keep pumping. I started reading a little and now I'm not sure if I should just not worry about it because WCM isn't an essential part of the diet anyways or if I should start trying out alternatives like almond milk or soy milk. Thoughts? What are you doing if your LO won't drink WCM?

Re: Anyone's LO not like WCM?
I've touched on the milk choices a bit with my pedi due to DD's milk and soy intolerance/allergy(?). My pedi's concerns with not doing WCM is the lack of fat in the other milks. She said that if you can get fat in through other food sources it can be done. We haven't discussed specifics yet since DD2 isn't close to switching from formula, so I'm not sure how much fat is necessary.
my read shelf:
I know I haven't posted lately... Layla doesn't like WCM either, she'll drink it if its watered down so I'm going to try to slowly thicken it over time. It's extremely frustrating because she's a terrible solids eater. I'm literally having to force feed her at this point because she doesn't want to put anything in her mouth but mama's milk and I was hoping to have started the weening process by now, though I thought it would happen naturally to some extent, I don't want to fully wean her I just want her to be able to eat solids. I've reverted to baby purees again because I was being told that I must be starving her by my family. If I don't force her to eat puree, she will take maybe 3 bites of something she likes, if that, and throw the rest on the floor. She holds the food in her mouth forever and usually ends up taking it out. Sorry for the rant
Yeah, so were watering down the WCM so it's more like water and letting her drink it at meal time and were still mainly BF.
A few things:
Smilelari: We haven't had DD's 1 yr wv yet either, but we had several babies born around DD and a couple won't drink WCM. I actually want to switch to my neighbor's pedi (for other reasons) but this is what their doc said: As long as the fat and dairy intake is being met elsewhere, then the milk is not necessary if baby just won't take it. DD doesn't really like it much. We found she loved the milk served at the restaurant chain Red Robin, but no one elses. lol. So, I'm meeting her needs in other ways since we are down to nursing to 3x - from 6 and like yours, DD is awesome at table food, but refuses to take a bottle of BM since May. Not sure if I helped at all, but, it may be poss your pedi is ok with you finding other ways to meet her needs. One thing, have you tried the straw cups? If not, I'd try BM or WCM in the straw. Who knows? Sometimes different cups with different contents work.
Adenessa: Why would your family tell you that your DD is starving? Am I mixing you up with someone else, or weren't you quite sensitive to your family's negativity? Maybe I am thinking of someone else, but I'm sorry your family is making you feel pressured about DD eating habits. I have an idea, but maybe this is what you are already trying. What about reverting back to the purees like you are doing, but make them with BM? My DD never had purees, but she just tried the applesauce squeeze pack from a restaurant the other day and we both fell in love with the convenience. So I did a search and found Squishy Snack Pak - reusable squeeze packs. I was thinking that these would be a great way to give her yogurt and applesauce and heck...even making some yummy combo purees while we are in the stroller or on the go, whatever. What if you started making some purees, and gave her a squishy pack (since she can feed herself, why not?) and made some food with BM? Lemme know if this is a stupid idea. I'll try to come up with something else.
We also had that problem with LO not drinking water. I had to kind of force her to try it and see that it wasn't milk. Since then we haven't done much milk at all. Sigh.
We haven't tried any milk except WCM and 2% cow's milk. Not sure what's best to try. Maybe goat milk? IDK.

Did she like the 2% any better? I was wondering about maybe trying a lower fat milk and seeing if she would drink that and then work up to whole milk.
It was also a major fail
