My DHis so hard to shop for! He has a couple books from a series that he wants & I bought him a spoon with "cereal killer" engraved on it(he eats cereal at work everyday). Other than that, I'm at a loss.
This is probably really gross but I'm making him a blanket from his boxers. He literally has like 30 pairs because for awhile there MIL and I were both getting him holiday themed boxers for both Christmas and Valentines day. And since I wash clothes every 2 or 3 days that amount really isnt necessary. But he refuses to get rid of some because they're still in good shape. So I'm going to cut off the elastic, and cut right above the crotch and sew them all together (i'll leave him like 8-10) and back it with flannel. We'll see what he thinks.
As you can see, DH is really hard to shop for too since this is what I've had to resort to haha. But when you've been with each other long enough to do birthday, anniversary, Christmas, and Valentines gifts for several years, you just run out of ideas!
DH is getting a Kindle Fire, a new hat, a grill pan, the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy on BluRay, and any other little things I see/think of until Christmas.
I'm not sure what I'm actually getting him for sure - I feel like we haven't done gifts in a long time! We didn't do gifts last year b/c of DD (I used her as my excuse to not get gifts for anyone! ha!). And we didn't do gifts for anything else this year. So it's been a while, but these are my ideas:
* a Blu Ray player (I don't know if we really need one...as far as I'm concerned, our regular DVD player is just fine. And to be honest, I'm not sure how much DH cares either, so maybe not.... But it came to me as an idea so I thought I'd include it!)
* Dark Knight trilogy on DVD (or Blu Ray if I get a player! ) (DH really wanted to see the last Dark Knight movie but I think DH and I have been to 1 movie since DD was born... )
* Scotch Rocks (for scotch/whiskey drinking)
* a nice watch (or at least a nicer watch than what he currently has. Yes, DH still wears a watch...)
* Running socks (they are expensive! But I don't know exactly what kind he wants/needs)
* In the homemade department: I made a trivet (or just a wall hanging...whatever) using a bunch of corks from wine we've drank. I centered the corks of some meaningful bottles.
We just bought ourselves a really nice camera so I think that was sort of a joint present to ourselves...
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for other ideas.
I have a birthday and christmas to take care of! But DH made his birthday easy, he's going to be out of town for his birthday so I'm sending him to a pro football game. For Christmas I have the Avengers and I'm thinking about a new hat, assassins creed 3, fast five, green hornet, need for speed most wanted, star wars bluray, a 'geekly hallows' shirt, and for fun lightsaber chopsticks. Now how many of these things I can actually get I don't know.

The gift I hope to give him is super specialized and probably won't help with any ideas for others, but I will share anyway. We bought our house three years ago and we had a huge ginkgo tree in the front yard. If you know anything about gingkos, you know that their fruit STINKS like the dickens when it falls. We had the tree removed, but we saved a portion of the trunk. DH wanted to eventually get the wood carved with the name of his grandparents family farm "(Last Name)heim" name on it, since we call our home Kleine (Last Name)heim ("Little (Last Name) Home") in German. Does that make else, haha? Anyway, I still have to find a wood engraver that will do it, but I have had a hard time finding one in the area with the right materials to do it with. I thought the gift idea was creative and something that DH has forgotten about by now, so he'd be surprised when he received it. :-)
My husband wants a new gun safe. He's not happy with the one we have now, so I'll probably get it for him since he just had his birthday. Probably some new cologne and a new pair of basketball shoes.
DS just got an Iphone and I also got him assassin's creed 3. Normally I would also buy him a hoodie or a movie too, but we just got word that we are moving sooner than we anticipated, so we are scrambling to save money. Truthfully, he wouldn't have gotten the Iphone if I knew we were returning to the States so soon.
DH is getting Black Ops 2, Nordstrom t-shirts, new dress socks, the game Settlers of Catan (but the Star Trek version), his favorite cologne, and maybe a new sweater. I really want to get him a new Citizen Eco Drive watch but that may or may not be in the budget. If it's not, then I will be getting his old watch fixed.

Tickets to go see The Hobbit
Oven mitts and an apron per his request
And I am at a loss for his 3rd gift.
We have 3 gift rule and a fairly low budget for them since we are saving for a downpayment.
