Samanthia, how did the flight go?

Just curious how the move is going!

Re: Samanthia, how did the flight go?

  • We're spreading our travels out over the next week. Baby was great on the first flight, which was 5 and a half hours. We're actually at the airport now, awaiting our next flight. She's been such a trooper. Her ears didn't bother her at all, and she refused a bottle going up and down. And nobody seemed to annoyed with us, so that's definitely a plus. On Tuesday we're actually going to take an Amtrak from Reno to Omaha. It will take us two full days. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for asking. When will you be traveling ?

  • awesome! Glad to hear it went well. The train ride should be fun, you can get up and walk around a lot more easily than on a plane.

DD's been 6 flights so far, nothing more than 2 hours though. We've only had one bad flight where she was really fussy. That was an early evening flight, which is her worst time of the day so I learned my lesson. We're driving to my in-law's for Thanksgiving, a 10 hour drive. Not really looking forward to the drive with DD. We're just planning on stopping a lot.

  • Keep us posted on the Amtrak adventure. My mom wants to take one from B'ham to DC when my niece is born, but I'm thinking it would be really hard to do with a 6 month old, especially overnight in coach.

We're moving about 9 hours from my home town. It's considerably closer than where we were living apart, but I am dreading those drives. My dh suggested I drive LO there sometime this winter by myself. I don't think he thought that through. There's no way I would drive, at most, 3 hours with LO by myself at this age. I probably would have high blood pressure by the end. Good luck with the drive!

It's going to take us two full days on the Amtrak, so we decided to get a sleeper room. I don't know if I would have attempted it otherwise. They were actually really reasonably priced too.
