My mom is super excited to take DD to Build A Bear, and I can redeem some credit card points for a gift card for the store. Do you think she's too young to enjoy it right now? My mom will probably pay for the bear, too, so I'm thinking I should save my points. Silly question, I know. Mom's just so excited, and I thought I'd get the gift card to save everyone some money, but now I'm thinking maybe we should wait until she's a little older and understands it more. Thoughts? I'm at work on my phone so I apologize if this makes no sense!
Re: Build a Bear
I think you should just do it now if you want to. Your Mom and DD would have a wonderful time and DD would get a bear that she would probably really enjoy.
I have had some discussions with DH before about doing things with DS that he won't remember. For example, we wanted to take DS to Cat Tales to see the lions and tigers but DH thought he was too young to get it. I always tell DH, "well if we base it on what he will remember or not then why do anything with him. Regardless, if he recalls it or understands it he will still enjoy the activity for the day!" That has been my line and I stick to it!
Audrey is a build a bear freak...she has four of them and she has tons of clothes. She really got into it around the age of three. If you sign up you they will mail and email you coupons too. Audrey's have cost between 50.00 and 15.00 dollars so it really can very on how you dress/options you choose and what deal/coupons you have.
I would wait until at least two-three.
Signing up now! Thanks, Penny! I don't think we're going to get out of the mall with my mom next Friday without stopping at BaB. I'm sure she'll at least let me use a coupon!
If you are going next Friday they have a promotion: Flurry friends for $5!

We just dropped a good 400 dollars on a day at Disneyland with Gator. She won't remember it, but I will. I will remember how she "moo'ed" at every donkey and horse during Pirates of the Caribbean and Its a Small World. How she strummed her little fat fingers to the music on SO's arm during Its a Small World. How she practically leaped out of SO's arms and squealed when she spied Mickey, then gave him a high five, kissed his nose, and giggled when he hugged her. Her dancing to the street parade. And the look on her face when Cinderella's castle "changed seasons" lit up, and fake snow started falling out of the sky. It was worth every penny. Would I do it again, heck yeah I would! Even though she would forget about it by naptime, it was worth it.
So I say let your mom enjoy it, even if its just for her.
Definitely too young to get the whole "Build-a-bear experience", but still fun to do! I actually bought Rocco's first stuffed animal from there, before he was even born. A stuffed Koala bear because I was in Australia when I found out I was pregnant with him. The koala's name is Mel (short for Melbourne, where I was specifically when I got the positive pregnancy test). Here's a photo of Rocco and Mel, because I am an AW like that and I love this photo:
