DD has ringworm :-(

She got these little patches on her back about three months ago and I thought they were just dry skin for awhile, but they lasted way too long. We went in for her nine month appointment today, and I asked about it. They took a few cells and tested them and told us she has ringworm.

It's not really a big deal. I have to put some prescription lotion on her twice a day for two weeks and it will go away in about eight weeks. But I feel really bad that I didn't call the doctor about it sooner. :-(

    If it makes you feel any better, I had that as a kid once, and I remember that it didn't feel like anything at all.

    At least it's being taken care of now.

    Yeah, it doesn't seem to bother her at all, even when I touch it. And she likes having the lotion put on.

    It's so hard to know when to call and when not to. That's good that it doesn't bother her. Hopefully it clears up quickly!

    I have a nephew who seems to have it all the time. When Ian was 4 months old, guess who came to visit and smooched all over Ian? Guess who got ringworm on his face? Yep! I'm surprised they gave you a prescription. I just used lotrimin af and it cleared right up. The lotrimin is an anti fungal and that what ringworm is, a fungus. It didn't seem to bother Ian either. I'm sure they told you, but it's very contagious! Wash your hands, LOTS! And wash your hands some more, lol. I'm sure it'll be gone in no time.
