April 2013 Moms

Aw, GROSS.

I promise to be over the Hostess thing after this post, but I just wanted to share one reason why I hate Hostess snack and am actually thrilled they're closing up shop.

Observe!

Friggin' nasty.  It just skeeves me out.  Gross.

That is all.

  • Puke!!

One of the ingredients in twinkies is the same stuff that envelope glue is made out of.  Ick.

  • Oh Native...you cannot deny the deliciousness that is a Nutty Bar.

    Admit it.

One of my best friends ("B") offered to be our surrogate, and we're now expecting a baby in April 2013 after two cycles of natural IUI at the Jones Institute. For medical reasons, we are not biologically related to our unborn child. Yes, I guess that makes this a "planned adoption."

Wait, wait, wait. Aren't Nutty Bars a Little Debbie thing?! I wasn't too concerned about this Hostess nonsense, but if Nutty Bars are going, too, I have reason to panic.

Hey, pretty girl, it feels so right,
Just like it's meant to be
All wrapped up in my arms so tight
Hey, pretty girl, it feels so right
Life's a long and winding ride
Better have the right one by your side
And happiness don't drag its feet
Time moves faster than you think
  • Damn you, on to the next craving!

With a heavy heart, I must say yes.  Yes they are.

Uggggggh, no!  I like stuff that actually spoils.  Shelf life of forever is so gross!  Plusalso, I don't like nuts in my confections.

I will say, though, that if I can get my hands on a real, non-preservative-loaded, freshly baked Swiss cake roll I will do my best to eat my weight in it.

  • what people fail to realize is that OVERCONSUMPTION is what leads to disease. i know plenty of people that have eaten twinkies. they are everyday healthy people with children and grandchildren.

people have been trying to scare the public from eating twinkies for years; this is nothing new.

if i like them, i would eat one right now

I don't really give a crap about the link between Twinkies and disease.  My point was that I, personally, don't eat Twinkies because everything about them is just wrong.  Also, they taste gross.  And I'm not at all as saddened by the fact that they could (but probably won't) disappear from the planet.

  • Yeah, this video is a little disturbing.

But I thought that Twinkies were gross before seeing this video. Why do we pay for such dry cake??

But what are we going to eat when the Zombie Apocalypse hits?

Definitely not Twinkies if Zombieland is any indication!  Although, did anyone else who watched that movie notice the little Twinkie discrepancy in that movie?  Tennessee spends the whole movie searching desperately for a Twinkie and he only finally gets his Twinkie at the very end of the movie, but he's standing right in front of a box full of Twinkies at the grocery store.

  • Maybe Tastycakes will buy them out.  I'd love to have access to butterscotch krimpets and those peanut butter chocolate tandy cakes? again.  Although maybe it's a good thing they don't sell them in the midwest.
