Eating alone again? Come on in...

I know the other day there was a general feeling of "just deal with it," but eating alone almost every sucks  whether you signed up for it or not.

 So... Whatcha eating?whatcha doing later?

It is a gourmet night here. Frozen pizza and velveety shells and cheese. I could have cooked but didn't have it in me today. And, it is a Jack's pizza, which I don't like but am eating anyway.

Later, I am getting everything organized for family pictures tomorrow. No idea when DH will be home.  Yay Friday night....

  • I ate alone. Leftovers. DH is out of town and I had to eat sitting on the floor while Colton harassed the dog.

For the past week I've had nothing but disappointing dinners. I'm ready to be taken out for a nice dinner.

  • I'll probably have a bowl of cereal and some oreos for dessert. Truthfully, most nights I prefer to eat alone even though I miss DH. He and I both have very different tastes and expectations when it comes to dinner so a lot of times it's just easier for me if I only have to worry about my own dinner.

  • Yea that was me who most people told to "suck it up". I was still upset.
DH went with this company today to serve food at a soup kitchen, which they were supposed to do the week Hurricane Sandy hit so they rescheduled to today. I told him he should go, but if he didn't start coming home earlier from work his ass was gonna be homeless. ;-)

Eating alone night after night isn't fun, especially when it isn't what you expected for your life. Sorry you are alone.

  • DH said his boss is going to take us out to a dinner sometime soon as a thank you for all his hard work and to make it up to me for him being gone so much. Seriously? I will have to pay for a sitter and then make small talk with his boss. I think I deserve a date night alone with DH, or better yet, a night out to myself! Not looking forward to the boss's dinner.

  • I ate alone. I went out and bought Chipotle because DH said, "Do whatever you want for dinner." So I did! It was delicious, too. A chicken salad with all of the fixings to make it not-so-healthy! The nice part, though, is that I can give Nat some of it as finger food (the beans, tomatoes, corn, and chicken). So really, I was buying dinner for both of us. That's how I justify overspending our budget...

I commented on that post and I'm sorry if we made it worse! I didn't mean my comments, personally, as a "suck it up" kind of comment. You definitely have a right to be upset! It does suck.

OP and Kate, and all the others who have Hs who are working long hours...I hope with the holidays coming up that they all can get some time off and you're all able to get in some extra time as a family. I know it won't make up for all the other time that they're not there but hope it at least helps a little!
