Hey Wendi, I have been seeing you are going to be in Vegas over Thanksgiving. Just wanted to give you a few suggestions... take them or leave them, just a locals opinion.
Best buffet in town is at the M. It is kind of out of the way, it's super south, but if you just keep going south on the strip, you will hit it. BEST ONE EVER. It has won the best of las vegas for years now. It's less than 10 min away from the Mandalay Bay (which I consider to be like, the most southern big hotel/casino on the strip)
Blue Man Group, O, and Mystere are probably THE best shows on the strip. (my opinion) I know blue man group isn't everyone's 'thing', but I love it every time I see it. Go see the gardens at the Bellagio. Free, beautiful, quick trip, well worth it. They are always decorated up depending on the season. There is a free garden area at the Flamingo, cool fish and flamingo's. Same thing, free, not too big, won't take too much time, but it's interesting and fun.
Best kept secret for italian food is Batistas Hole in the Wall. It's slightly off the strip, you can walk from the strip though. It isn't miles away, just a little off. SOO good and great atmosphere. They come and sing to you and everything. It has pictures of famous people all over the walls of people who have been there. It's fun. Mon Ami Gabi for a brunch is awesome if it's a warm late morning. Sit outside and watch the Bellagio fountains show. It's awesome. (it's located inside the Paris, and is right across the street from the Bellagio)
Caesars has awesome shops, and a cool aquarium and free show. It lasts about 10 minutes and I think happens every hour on the hour. The aquarium is part of the stage for the show so you can just to look at it freely. Right next to the show is Cheesecake Factory (YUMMMMM). Mandalay Bay has a cool aquarium reef. It's huge. It is a paid attraction, but it's well worth it if you like that stuff. Luxor has the Bodies Exibit! THAT is absolutely amazing. It's a paid attraction, but I'd pay double what they charge to see it. It's SO worth the money. Very cool. DONT waste your money on the CSI attraction at the MGM. TOTAL RIP OFF! It's expensive and you get nothing out of it.
I could go on and on, but those are probably the best bullet points of suggestions I could give. If you have any questions on anything let me know! I know people who work in the industry, so I don't know if you guys go out to clubs or anything, but I could probably get you some comped tables and stuff. Show tickets are sort of hard to get comped right now because of the season and employee's don't get many during this season. If they do they have to account for them and show that the 'guest' bought a bunch of other crap to make up for it. I could try though. Just let me know. I hope you have an awesome vacation!

Re: Wendi!
Thanks Wendi!
Awesome job on the upgrade!! I hope you guys have a blast. You deserve it!
Chrissy, we have gone to Vegas a few times but the first time I went, like 10 years ago OMG we went to a Morracan restaurant in a strip mall. All I remember is it was across a parking lot from a Morton's Steakhouse. Do you have any idea what I am talking about? I loved that place.
Mary, I know where Morton's is, but I'm not familiar with the place you are describing :
Wendi I can't tell you how many ppl I have talked to and have said they LOVE imperial. I've never been, but I've heard good things. :

Treasure Island is nice. Friend got married there. We won a little bit there too. Like the Blackjack tables too. The dealers were nice.
Best place to win on slots? Excalibur. Hate the hotel and casino really, but they had the loosest slots. I would win $100 and $200 wins on the bank of 777's. Usually spent it again, but it would typically pay for my trip.
Ditto and thumbs up on any Circus Soleil show and Blue Man. Loved Blue Man.
I also think the Bellagio has a wonderful buffet.
LOL! He's like my dad. Dad loves buffets. It cracks me up.
Happy Anniversary to you both! I hope you have a fantastic and safe trip and I will be sending you my good thoughts and love your way.
Let me know when you are in Iowa sometime and you think you want to meet. It doesn't have to be the next time - just sometime when it works into your schedule. Even if it's just you and me (and maybe DD) for coffee. I'll make a run to that area for you any day lady!
Safe travels to him! It's a gorgeous day to be on the road. Tell him the state patrol is out - so no hurrying home!
