Things that make you go hmmm....

(Anyone remember that song?)

Why do people put sh!t on FB like 'Checking in at ____ hospital' then not write anything else?  Then others write 'why?' and the original poster either doesn't get back to write anything, or they are all shady and secretive.  Why?

  • I know....  You KNOW people are going to ask what's up.  Just start off by saying so and skip the drama.  Maybe people like to see the little red notification icon and they know they will get more of those if they are vague.

  • I hate when people check in at the gym.  It makes me feel like a heffer.

  • I hate when people check in anywhere....  I work from home and mother from home.  I don't get out much.  LOL
  • I hate it when people only use FB to "check in" at trendy things..you're cool.

  • I hate all vague posts like that. It's like people are just fishing for attention. I have one fb friend who is constantly posting stuff like "Why do I even bother??!!?". Of course everyone asks her what's wrong and she never answers. She does this at least twice a week.
  • My SIL is one of these people....

"4 ex-rays and $250 in co-pays in still no amswer"

    or

    "again...."

She also is "in a relationship" and not with my brother all the time.  They don't break up, she just changes her status randomly and gets attention  for it.

Whenever I see people checking in to places on their FB feed the only thing I think is 'this would be an excellent time to rob their house.'

Exactly!  People are so simple.  Confused

  • Good thing I can't check in anywhere since my phone is circa 1997.

This is why I never tell people that I'm going anywhere until I get back-unless we have someone staying at our house.

My girlfriend does this alllll the time.  I don't think I could rob her, but I have thought about pooping in her toilet and leaving it for when she gets home.  Then she'll wonder if she accidentally forgot to flush or if someone broke into her home, took a dump, and left it or someone is still in her home.

  • I've expressed on a few occasions my annoyances with friends on fb (like the mom who brags about going out drinking every weekend despite she has 4 children, because she needs to keep her relationship alive), but the number one issue I have is the horrific spelling/grammar I witness.  I'm not perfect, but I would like to think I have a pretty firm grasp on the difference between there, their, they're or too, to, two... Obviously, these people know how to use the internet, so why don't they look up how something is spelled before the murder the English language.

I have a friend who has missed EVERY big event in her friend's lives in the past year.  Weddings, showers, etc...  Usually because she's sick...  Then you look at her FB page and you see she was out last night drinking and partying OR she is OUT RIGHT NOW while we are at a bridal shower.  Sigh

Oh, or in Puerto Rico visiting her family.  Even though she checked in around the corner from us.

  • I hate all of these!  One of my FB friends said something like "Nothing like the police at your door at 7:30 am"....  Followed by everyone asking "OMG- what's going on?"  It was just a wrecked car parked in front of her house.
