update to quitting my job

Got a call from one of our branch managers today. He manages a concept store in a local mall (our only mall store) and wants me to come work part time. Instead of being on a salary+commission it will be hourly with a small commission percentage. Since I've been with the company for so long, he thinks he can get me a pretty competitive hourly rate, and the hours will be a LOT better. I told him I'd take it. Not my dream job scenario, but I'm thankful to have this opportunity while I'm looking for something more permanent. Looks like the rent will get paid next month, ladies!

    That's wonderful!!! I don't know what kind of store it is, but did the opportunity open up because of the holidays?  I noticed a lot of "help wanted" signs when I went out shopping today.  Woo hoo, good for you!

    It's a national mattress retailer. The store in the mall is a concept store that sells the high-end stuff only. And accessories like pillows/mattress protectors/sheets etc. I had talked to the manager previously about possibly doing part time, but I didn't like the pay structure. They've changed it since, so I don't have to worry about hitting a commission draw now. I'm sure the holiday traffic didn't hurt my chances. It's a win/win for both parties.
