News this week:
laxkal23 had her baby! Caillum James was born on 11/9 at 5 lb. 7 oz. at 36w5d. Her PIH suddenly went from pre eclampsia to severe pre eclampsia and she was induced @ 36w 4d; her induction had to be stopped twice due to the baby's heart rate and the doctor decided an emergency c/s was the best option. Turned out the distress had nothing to do with her bp or the medication but rather the fact that the cord was wrapped twice around his neck. Thank goodness for cautious doctors! Mom and baby are both doing well and hopefully Caillum will be discharged soon. She was due 12/2 and had been on modified bed rest since 10/15 for IC & PTL. So happy to hear that Caillum arrived safely! Congrats!
Kiraliz had her baby! Holden was born on 11/9. She was due 11/21 and was on modified bed rest for 3 wks starting at 33w for mild pre-e and severe edema, then spent a week in the hospital. She was induced on 11/8. Congratulations!!
baby olsey had her little girl! She was born 11/10 via c/s. She had her cerclage removed on 10/26 and was due 11/14. She was on strict bed rest since 7/27 for incompetent cervix, then modified bed rest as of 10/1 until cerclage removal. Congratulations!
chels38026 had her twins! They were born on 11/16 at 28w6d, after 10 weeks of bed rest. Olivia Anne joined us at 9:45pm, weighing 2 lbs. 13 oz., and measuring 16.5 inches. Her sister, Ella Catherine, came at 10:20pm, weighing 2 lbs. 12 oz., and measuring 15.5 inches. Both are still in the NICU, but are making great progress. She was due 1/2/13, and went on home bed rest at 18w6d due to shortened cervix, then hospital bed rest at 21w6d due to dilation. She also had a pessary. Congrats times two!!
Finally, I'm very saddened to report that FullHeartMama lost her baby. Her baby girl Ansley was born at 25w6d on Nov. 4, and lived for 8 hours. She had been on strict home bed rest since 21w due to unexplained low fluid, marginal placenta previa (which had since moved) & Vasa Previa, then hospital bed rest at 24w due to bleeding. If you're the praying type, please say a prayer for this family- what they are going through is gut-wrenching. If not, please send happy thoughts, vibes, anything you've got. FullHeartMama, our sincerest condolences go out to you and your family.

~~~***Remembering FullHeartMama's baby girl Ansley, born 11/4/12: She is not forgotten!***~~~
I did some housekeeping this week and removed a few people who we have not heard from in over 4 weeks. If you notice that you've been removed and would like to be re-added, no problem! Simply re-post your info here. Just trying to keep our list up-to-date.
So, any updates? What's on your mind this week? How are you doing mentally/physically this week?
GTKY: Is there anything you've "accomplished" while on bed rest? Other than growing a baby, that is! For example, have you completed a project, read any books, organized anything or completed some task?
I love seeing all these bed rest mamas have their babies
I can't believe my name is third on the list of due dates coming up. I am incredibly grateful to still be here.
FullHeartMama is on my mind a lot this week. I know what she's going through and my heart just breaks for her.
I am on the last stretch of my bed rest. I'm 35w today, amazingly. My cerclage comes out a week from Monday, on 11/26. This has been a llllloooonnng few months for me. I'm so close though, and I can smell freedom.
GTKY: Is there anything you've "accomplished" while on bed rest? Other than growing a baby, that is! For example, have you completed a project, read any books, organized anything or completed some task?
I have 90% of my Christmas shopping done. I finished an art project for the dining room wall. I painted a little wooden Christmas train that I've had in a drawer for 6 years. I organized and edited all of the photos on our computer and made a photo book for the year on Shutterfly- all I have to do is add Nov./Dec. and it's done. I've taken over much of the finance management for our household, mainly because I sit next to the computer most of the day. I finished all of my sewing/mending projects and I'm currently working on sewing a stuffed toy for this LO.
Wow, when I spell it all out I guess I have been busy!
Hi! I am new and would love to be added as this seems a great way to get support.
-Due Date: 01/19/2013
-We are having a baby girl, sweet Emerson Leighann
-I have been on modified bed rest since 28w5d due to gestational hypertension. I am now 30w6d.
Thanks for letting me join you all, let me know if I need to do anything else!
I am 37 weeks today! Very excited.
Unfortunately, when I went in to the doctor yesterday, my blood pressure was a tad high. I was immediately sent to the hospital. I was quite grumpy about it, to be honest. I'm tired of hospitals and being poked and prodded. I really am. I had hoped the next time I went to the hospital I would be popping out a baby... Also, their monitor in the doctors office is iffy, once it said 140/95, taken immediately after it said 118/71. How is that possible?
As I suspected all labs came back normal, and mostly normal readings on BP except for when they were talking about getting the labs, and I was talking to the doctor about how last time this happened my doctor just induced me out of convenience. My arms are all bruised from them attempting to get blood. It's always a "third times the charm" kind of thing, because my veins run away.
Apparently, we are talking induction after 39 weeks. I really wanted to go naturally this time, so I'm hoping LO just comes during the next 2 weeks. Was having contractions all Monday night every 8 minutes, so I'm hopeful. Time to clean the house, though!
Read a lot of books. Bought most of my christmas gifts, and wrapped half of them, thus far. We put up the tree. Not much else that I can think of.
Hello, Ladies!
I would like to join you guys. I've been lurking a little bit.
I'm due January 24th. I'm having a little girl, Amelia Rose. I'm on what I guess you would call modified bed rest (?) for developing/mild pre-e since 28w.
At a routine appointment they found that my BP was kinda high and then there was protein in my urine. Got sent to L&D where they watched me for a couple hours until my BP went down and then they sent me home where I had to do a 24 hr urine collection and it came back with protein levels just over the pre-e levels. So they put me on modified bed rest at home and are having me monitor my BP.
I'm so confused by this whole thing and I don't know what to do with myself or how to handle the bed rest so I'm definitely looking for people with similar experiences.
GTKY: Is there anything you've "accomplished" while on bed rest? Other than growing a baby, that is! For example, have you completed a project, read any books, organized anything or completed some task?I've read a few books, played household secretary, and have managed to actually keep up on folding laundry (the most hated chore in the house!). I would still like to make Clare some headbands before she comes, but I'm waiting until the Thanksgiving sales to buy the embellishments. My Christmas shopping is pretty much done, but I've been holding off on wrapping until we put our tree up next week. I really should get some plans done for school when I go back to work, but ehh not nearly as much fun!
So, any updates? What's on your mind this week? How are you doing mentally/physically this week?
I'm realizing that while I've been on bed rest, time is going by without me! We still haven't done anything in the nursery other than paint and it's a disaster right now! I'm starting to feel stressed about getting things done in there and frustrated that I can't do anything to help.
Physically I doing well... Other than congestion and a few other aches and pains, I have not complaints. Mentally/emotionally it's been a rough week... And next week is not going to be much better. My friend who has been my constant support through this pregnancy and especially bed rest, is having surgery on Monday so I will be even more alone than usual... DH is working ridiculous hours trying to keep his head above water... And everyone else has disappeared...
GTKY: Is there anything you've "accomplished" while on bed rest? Other than growing a baby, that is! For example, have you completed a project, read any books, organized anything or completed some task?
I've made Christmas presents for my entire family (13 people)... Working on making them for DH's family (another 10 people)... Also, got our finances in order, organized my daycare files, read a couple books and am also working on 2 cross-stitch projects.
I am miserable the last couple of days due to an infection. Just trying to get it gone so I can feel better.
I have organized and got rid of a bunch of stuff that has been piling up. I also got the diaper bag packed and ready to go! I hope my mom gets the crib and dresser off lay-a-way soon so I can finish the nursery.
I have been feeling pretty good mentally the last week, like I might really truly make it to our long term goal of 34 weeks, but physically I'm really starting to get uncomfortable and I have been sleeping terribly.
I have done lots of reading, caught up on entire series of shows that I have wanted to start watching, did almost all our Christmas shopping (thank goodness for online shopping and free delivery!) and wrapped all our Xmas presents and DD's bday presents (her bday is Dec. 18th and her party is Dec. 8th). I also tackled quite a few Pinterest crafts for the nursery and learned how to crochet.
Aw.. thanks for the shout out, Wedded. You're a sweetheart.
I still lurk here.
Maybe that's strange... there's a part of me that still wants to help others or wants to reach out. I don't know. I'm sure I'll move on soon. I am finding myself on the Loss board more and more.
TheBump ate my profile. Oh well. New and improved.
Lurk away, if you like. I think it's pretty normal. It was too hard for me though. I have found I no longer fit in on the BMB, now I'm the lady with the "scary" stories. Sometimes I have to not reply to some posts because I know the OP is looking for positive stories, not ones where the pg ended tragically like mine, even though my opinion may be valid.
If you do decide to get pg again, PgAL will be a great place for you. There's many late loss ladies over there that can really relate to the fear that naturally comes with any subsequent pg.
