So wednesday afternoon my 7 week :LO had a watery poopy diaper but she BF just fine. Thursday morning she threw up everything she ate and had another watery poopy diaper. Now she spits up and makes sounds like she has BM in her throat and hasnt pooped at all, but has peed normally. She also has alittle bit of gas. Any suggestions as to how to alleviate the gas and get her to poop? Also does anyone have the spit up issue. I am just wondering if I should continue to breastfeed, go strictly to bottle feeding BM or switch to formula. I am very concerned.

Re: Constipation and other issues - need advice
My LO has gone a day or two days without pooping before. He acts uncomfortable but eventually he poops and he's fine. It's common and not really anything to worry about.
I don't see any reason why you would switch to bottle or stop BFing. If you're worried that she has a stomach bug or something, you should call the pediatrician.
It's very normal for a BF baby to go several days without pooping. My LO only goes once or twice a week now.
However, regarding the spitting up and the gurgling in her throat, that sounds like reflux. Has she ever had milk come out of her nose? Do you have an 8 week appointment coming up? I'd ask the pedi about reflux.

Well I can't tell from your post if you're saying she is throwing up and has diarrhea or if she's not pooping and is just having some normal spit up. One sounds like a stomach bug and one sounds like normal baby stuff. So I'm not sure.
As far as how to help with gas, you can try gas drops or gripe water. You can also lay her on her back and do bicycle legs (move her legs like she's riding a bike) and gently rub/press on her lower belly.
That happened to my LO twice also. Pretty sure it's reflux. The great news is it's easily controlled with meds. Hope LO feels better soon.

Lots of bf babies have milk come out of their nose and it has nothing to do with reflux. When it came out of her nose, did she scream?
Around 2 months, a lot of bf babies start to have their bowel movements slow down. My LO at 5 months now only goes every 7 days or so. Don't panic.
Since you're appt is coming up, I would have them check weights. If their is a weight gain issue you have a problem. However, I doubt you do.
