Honda Odyssey (8 seat) and car seats--WWYD/advice?

We have a 2012 Odyssey. We need to install our infant seat base soon. We were going to move the 2 and 4 year olds to the third row, take out one seat in the second row for easy access, and put Baby in the 2nd row with the jump seat there for me to sit in as needed and be able to reach all 3 kids.

But, given that we aren't likely to take any long trips until summer (my concern is needing to sit next to baby on longer trips to help hold toys and entertain), I'm starting to think maybe we should just put all 3 in the second row for now. Seems safer not to have the older ones in the very back, and is also nice that we could fold down the 3rd row as needed. 

WWYD? Anyone follow this and have actual experience you can share? TIA!

    My kids were 3 and 4 when my third was born.  We had the 3 year old in the third row (on the drivers side) because the oldest gets motion sickness.  We put the 4 year old behind the driver and put the baby behind the passenger.   We took the middle seat out of the second row.  We still have the same set up except the older two are in high back boosters.  We often fold down the empty seat (2 seats) in the third row and there is plenty of room for stuff.

    I would start teaching the 4 year old how to fetch the toys and help with the baby!  :)   Only half kidding!     We have a Honda Odyssey, but we don't have 3 car seats, so I'm sorry I can't offer more help.

    Our plan is to put DS1 and DS2 in the 3rd row and new baby behind drivers side in the second row.  We will leave out the middle seat in the second row for day to day and put it in for longer road trips.

    Can you fit all three in the second row?  I am guessing you can since the Honda Odyssey has the widening feature to allow for a wider 2nd row.  Probably also depends what car seats you are using.

    If that were me, I'd put the oldest in the 3rd row, put newborn and middle child in the 2nd row with jumpseat and that is enough room for me to sit between, but IDK what your size is.

    Slightly different because we have two infants but we keep all three of ours in the second row.  DD#1 is FF in the middle and gets in her seat and gets her shoulder straps on.  We put in the  babies and then from the driver or passenger seat turn around and buckle DD.  Gives us so much cargo space the double stroller can go right in without folding!
