Tomorrow Jace will be coming home after 20 days in the NICU. Damien is not far behind though. Hopefully only a few more days.
If your babies were discharged separately, I'm curious how you handled this. The nurses said I'm able to bring Jace to the NICU and that they understand if I'm not able to come as much as I usually do. My issue is that Damien prefers nursing over bottle and I want to be there to do that with him, but then I will feel bad having Jace in the car seat when I'm taking care of Damien. Seems like it would be so uncomfortable for him. I don't even know where I would change his diapers or what I would do with him while in pumping room. If I leave Jace at home, I'm time-restricted because I nurse him too. It seems like I'll be unhappy with whatever decision I make. Hoping someone can share their experience with this.
Re: Calling NICU mamas: One staying, one going.
We ended up coming home on the same day 17 but they said that they would of kept DS isolette all set up for him next to DD.
All the best to you!!

Congratulations on Jade coming home!
My situation was a little different. I didn't breastfeed Derrick (my NCU baby); I pumped exclusively. He was supplemented with NeoSure because of his birth weight. I did breastfeed Dominic because he was never admitted to NCU.
Since the twins were delivered via c-section, my husband went with me to the NCU each day. The best advice that I received from the nurses was to come once a day & then go home & rest. So that's what I did. We'd go & spend an hour with Derrick. I know some people went more often. I knew that Derrick was in the best possible hands (other than mine) & that I needed to concentrate on Dominic & my 15 month old at home.
Youll have to find the schedule that works best for you.
