  I had a scheduled c-section but didn't have a pre-op appointment.  I have had other surgeries though, and the pre-op appointments have always been about the same---a brief physical, review of the procedure and consent forms, and blood tests.

  I've never had a pre-op, but it might just be filling out forms, answering medical history questions, getting insurance information, going over the schedule for the day, etc.

  You've probably already had your appt.  Mine was history, going over procedure, when to be there, when to stop eating, and I got my blood work done in the same visit.  It's painless (minus the blood work)  I didn't even have one done with my second b/c it was as the same hospital as my first, but I will have one done this time b/c it's at a differant hospital and I want to know the anst. feelings on my husband being in the room while given the epi b/c it's my make or break deal.  My husband MUST be holding my hand while it's given!

  YEP i'm a baby when it comes to something being shoved in my spine!

  Thanks ladies....it wasn't too bad. Just what time to show up, scheduled my anesthesiologist and talked about what type to do epi, spinal or general. My blood work is getting done on Monday day before my surgery
