NBR- Cancer...

So two weeks after E came home from the hospital we found out my dad had cancer.  I am SO relieved to say he just got out of surgery and they think they got it all. his chemo and radiation worked so well that the tumor was much smaller than when they found it.  I truly believe that my son was his motivation to get better... the idea that he would miss out on him growing up broke his heart. Last night I said to him that E fought and surprised him all and I cannot wait to talk to him again tonight and tell him how proud I am that he fought so hard and surprised us too. 

 

There isn't really a point other than to say YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! we've had such an insanely emotional and scary year so far and I'm hoping that this is the end of it and we can have a healthy rest of the year and 2013!!

    I'm so sorry to hear that your dad has been sick.  I can't imagine how hard dealing with that on top your your lo coming early must be.  But, it sounds like he is doing really really well!  That is great!  My father had cancer when I was in college.  It was so scary but here we are 15 years later (yes I am that old Big Smile) and he's doing great.  He has been cancer free ever since!  Being a fighter really makes all the difference!

    I will pray for you and your family for a heathy remainder of 2012 and 2013!

    So glad to hear about the successful surgery. My mom has been battling cancer for about 5 years now (slow growing type but inoperable because it's all over her body already). Anyway, it was really tough when she was sick when DS was in the NICU and young, and well even now. Cancer totally sucks. Wishing you and your dad the best. YEY! to all of you for getting this far through a very tough situation.

    Thank you all. I just talked to him and he sounded so relieved that this step is over.


    Cara I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I'm glad it's slow and hope it slows down even more. My tp's are with you all as well!
