Natural Birth

Recommendations please for OB in Fremont CA area Pro-Natural

Hi everyone! We will be moving to the Fremont area in CA in the next few months during my second trimester. We presently live in Mexico and I had a very successful 100% natural birth with our son here last year. We had some struggles with the OB here wanting to do a C-section last minute and I would like to not have to fight this time with my OB while in labor :)

Can anyone offer advice on an OB/Midwife in this general area that they are aware is pro-natural childbirth? We are willing to go probably about 1/2 hour from Fremont, so San Jose, Milpitas, etc. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks ladies!

  • Stay away from Washington hospital.  It's not natural birth friendly.

If you'd be interested in hospital-delivery midwifery care and aren't Kaiser, I'd suggest Lin Lee in Los Gatos (bayareamaternity.com), which would be about a 20 minute drive for you.  She delivers at El Camino LG.

For OB care, I'd recommend Narissa Kendrick (womenscareforlife.com), also in Los Gatos.  She's a natural birth advocate.

  • Thank you so much!! This helps immensely!!
  • I've been very happy so far with my OB Dr. Rubi Khilnani in San Mateo (might be pretty far from Fremont). She's been great and very open and supportive of all-natural. Haven't been through the birth yet (less than two weeks!) so I can't speak to that yet.
  • I lurk on here form time to time but wanted to say I've been very pleased with Bay Area Maternity that PP mentioned. The midwives are Lin Lee and Maria Greulich and while I haven't given birth yet, they have been so easy to work with and super supportive. I was also very impressed with the hospital tour for the hospital they deliver at. I also love the OB they work with- I've met with him twice and he was probably the nicest OB I've ever met, and also very supportive of my birth plan. I would feel totally comfortable with him if for some reason this pregnancy goes high risk or has complications. Like I said, I haven't given birth yet but being 37 weeks now, I can't hype them up enough for the care I've received so far!
