I am currently on bed rest, going for my follow up appointment tomorrow. Not really sure what to expect I've never had issues with my cervix until now. Will being on bed rest undo the funneling?
The cervix is dynamic, which means it is always changing. My doctors have told me that bed rest can help to prevent further shortening or funneling. In my case one week I had some funneling and then the next week it was better. But then I went in a week later and was 1 cm dilated. So it really depends and is hard to say for sure. Bed rest can't hurt though. Best to see what your doctors say tomorrow at your follow-up. Hope everything goes well and I will keep you in my thoughts.

It can't hurt! Everyone's cervix is different. I have been on bed rest since 22 weeks 5 days and some weeks my funneling seems to be less, some weeks it has gone back up. The main thing is, with STRICT bed rest (and I mean strict- I never fully sit up except when I go to my doctor's appointments in a wheelchair and I only get out of bed or off the couch to use the bathroom and shower), I am still pregnant! I have a cerclage too, but I think bed rest has also helped a lot.
Re: once your cervix starts funneling does bed rest correct it?
