Did you tear or require an episiotomy with your 2nd (or more) child?
I
had an episiotomy with my 1st, though I didn't want to. I don't know if
it was truly necessary or if the doctor was just episiotomy-happy. By
the end of my pregnancy I really just thought he was a jerk. When I
wanted to discuss my birth plan at my 32w appt. he just kind of
chuckled. When I told him I preferred to avoid an episiotomy his
response was, "Well, almost all FTM need one". Needless to say he is not my current OB.
Re: XP from PgAL: Q for STM+...tearing or episiotomy?
I had a 2nd degree tear with DD (my first) - not because she was big (she actually has a teeny head) but because she crowned & came out so darn fast. This time, with DS, I had a small tear that only needed 2 stitches. It was sore but not nearly as sore as the first time.
Hope you have a better recovery this time around - is your new OB less episiotomy-happy?
ETA: I meant to add, I haven't lurked on PgAL as much lately so I haven't seen updates, but it's so good to see your LO still cooking!
