Brest friend is under $30, but have boppy...?!

I got a boppy as a gift already but just saw on a mommy blog that the vibrant brest friend is under $30 which is a great price. Should I have both just in case I like one better or wait to see if the boppy doesn't cut it?

  • We hated the boppy for BFing. The Breast Friend was wonderful though.

ETA- We do get a LOT of use out of the boppy though. We use it during tummy time and for propping him up to practice sitting up, and before he could sit up he'd lounge in it. I definitely don't regret buying it.

  • My SIL is giving me her Boppy. They didn't like it but she said it's good for LO when they're on the floor and such. I bought a New Brest Friend on eBay for about $20 because with the BF'ing books I've read, they recommend that if you use a pillow while nursing a newborn, it's best if it has a shape like the Brest Friend (they described it; didn't give an actual brand name).

  • I would get both. Like PP mentioned the boppy is good for lounging, tummy time. L also has reflux so it was a place to put her down at after eating to keep propped up. And as she got older and could sit up (or trying to) it is nice to have it behind her for when she falls over.

  • I tried using the brest friend for BFing and hated it.  I gave it to my sister and she used it every time she nursed for the first 2-3 months.  I just propped the baby up with my leg up on the coffee table.  I am getting a nursing stool this time around.  Everyone is different and its hard to say what will work for you.

  • I have and use both, the hoppy is perfect to use in bed because I have my knees up to help prop it higher. The Brest friend is great in the livingroom or the rocker.

  • I loved having both.  MBF was way better when he was little.  I switched to the boppy when he was like 6 months.  Couldn't have lived without my MBF.

  • I know I'm the only one, but I much prefer the Boppy to the My Brest Friend. That said, I almost always nurse DD in the glider when we're at home and the Boppy just works much better with it than the MBF, at least for me.
