Waking up screaming

My LO has been so well mannered that today has thrown us all for loop.  For some reason, he's been overly fussy and demanding to eat every 2.5-3 hours instead of his normal 4 (I'm attributing this to 6-week growth spurt).

However, the part that's breaking my heart is that he's fighting sleep like crazy.  When we do finally get him to sleep, he'll only sleep for 20-30 minutes before he just starts screaming & crying in his sleep.  We are used to him having phantom cries where he doesn't actually wake up, but with this he's just screaming & screaming & screaming for a good 30 minutes at a time. Nothing we do is comforting him.

I'm not too worried but I just wish there was something that I could do.  :(

If you have a ceiling fan try laying your LO on the floor under it. It calms Cameron down almost instantly. Cameron seems to have periods of times were he just doesn't want to be held. He enjoys laying on the floor and the fan is soothing to watch.

  • We are going through this and I turned on our noise machine to the heartbeat sound and it helped. Also like PP said the fan might help too
  • Whatever his fussiness was, it helped him to sleep all night. I gave him a bottle at 10 pm and we had to wake him up at 6:30 am to feed again. He immediately fell back asleep and is in my lap now.
