Ugh! IUD removal fail.

So on Halloween I went in for my annual exam and my family doctor was also going to remove my IUD. He couldn't find it. So he referred me to an OB/GYN.

Met the OB/GYN today and he fished around for a good 20 minutes with no luck. He also looked for it with the in office ultrasound and couldn't see anything.

I now have an U/S at the ultrasound place with the big fancy machine to see if they can find it.

I'm so very sad that this is happening. Anyone else have a similar experience?

    Is there any possible way that it fell out somehow???  Maybe you didn't notice?  I've never had one so I don't know...but heard of them falling out before. 

    That is crazy!  GL and keep us posted.

    I never noticed anything that would make me suspect it fell out.

    The doctor said that if the ultrasound shows no IUD then I can go ahead and keep doing what I'm doing (TTGP). But I really doubt it fell out.

    I had one expel once. Have you ever had a really clotty cycle? That's what happened to me, and it came out in a clot when I was in the bathroom.

    I thought I was going to have to have something similar. My Doc could not find mine because the last Doc cut the strings too short. He gave me local anesthetic (just like you get at the dentist but down below!!) and was able to find it that ways.... I was nervous for a bit as I can image you are!! Good luck I hope they find it!!!

    I'm so glad to see your pregnant. I keep telling my husband that I'm scared that something is wrong and I wont be able to get pregnant again. :(

    To PP: My periods or sporadic and more like light spotting. So I haven't had a very clotty cycle. Or at least not that I noticed.
