I currently work from home managing social media for several websites so nothing too hard. I work about 1520 hours a week but only about 5 hours is absolutely necessary of scheduling content.
Tomorrow I have to get on the phone with my boss to talk about maternity leave. I feel like I would only need maybe 3 weeks off of absolutely no work and then could go back to doing the 5 hours a week that I need to do for a bit and then eventually back to my 1520 hours a week around 6 weeks pp.
Does that sound doable? My husband told me I can go into my office so I can get my 5 hours of work a week done at 3 weeks pp and I figure it might be nice to get away too. I'm just trying to work it all out in my head before talking to her!
Re: Going back to work after...
Can your work at home time be done after they are in bed at night? I only ask because I can't imagine ever having time to work at home for 20 hours a week as their sole care giver even when they are 3-4 months old. It's just too crazy just getting through the day. Maybe during nap if you can get them to nap at the same time.
I would give yourself at least 6 weeks even for the 5 hours a week.
I would say that 3 wks may be hard as you are only getting short bursts of sleep and that is if they sleep at the same time. At 3 wks, their naps are when you shower, eat, sleep lol. Good luck!
