No sign of rolling over??

Anyone else's LO showing no signs of rolling over? DS loves tummy time and is great at kicking and moving his arms on his back but he has no interest in rolling over either way. He has awesome head control and can sit assisted with the boppy around him so I'm not too worried that he is behind. Just wondering where all the other adorable August babies are with rolling over??

Re: No sign of rolling over??

  • My LO is 11 weeks. He rolls from belly to back sometimes, but not the opposite yet. Just remember that all babies are different.

  • I think there's actually a lot of early rollers on here. Many babies don't roll over until four or five months, or later, and it's all normal! Babies develop at their own pace.

  • Umm no. Tummy time lasts no more than a minute before she has a full on melt down. The only way she will do it is on our chests or up on our shoulder.

  • He rolled over a few days ago but I think it was a fluke. So far he's hitting all his three month milestones, so I'm not worried.
  • Micah rolls over from tummy to back almost everyday. His doctor said most babies don't start until 5 months so I wouldn't be worried if your LO isn't rolling yet.

  • I've twice found DS on his back in his crib after putting him down on his tummy.  Other than that, I've never seen him get close to rolling over.
  • Mine doesn't! Well, he did once very early on and then never again. I am not worried at all, and neither is his doctor.

  • No sign yet. She also doesn't laugh or really reach for stuff yet. I'm not worried.

  • She's gone tummy to back twice as a fluke.  If she's laying on us, she can usually propel herself from tummy to back pretty easily, but not so much when on the floor.  She has great head and neck control, though.

None. He HATES tummy time, too. It's fine, I'm not going to push it.
    This.

     Same here.

  • DS has shown no interest in rolling over.  He's meeting his developmental milestones, so I'm not concerned.  I sort of like the immobility at this age.

  • DS1 rolled front to back at 3 months a few times and then didnt do it again until 45 months. He didn't roll back to front until 6 months. One month later he was crawling and cruising, so I don't think rolling determines any future movement abilities and there is a wide range for when they start.

  • DS has no interest in rolling either direction. It's fine with me as it means we can keep him swaddled longer. We were in the pits of baby sleep hell for months when DD started rolling and we had to unswaddle her. I hope he never rolls! Just kidding.

    Sort of.

This is Emery exactly and he's one of the early August babies.

  • B rolled over twice by accident a month ago. Nothing since. I'm not worried.
  • He hates tummy time so we are not even close.

  • Howie's ped....sorry can't say pedi. I just can't...said by the four month checkup he should know how to roll to his side from his back and hold his head at a 45 degree angle during tummy time.

When I was working with babies all the time, they would either roll first or sit up first and sitting up doesn't happen often before six months. Howie is a big talker which makes me think his motor skills will be an afterthought to his verbal skills.

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?
