a BOY!!! Unless of course the babies growing a third leg or something but it seemed pretty obvious. We asked the u/s tech if she could check out the goods for us, and she did and she said it was def a boy and she's seen way more than we have..lol. I was sure we were having a girl, but it certainly doesn't matter to DH and I.
On to the cervix, it measured 3.5 and long, I went in thinking that anything over 2.5 was good, but now I'm googling and freaking myself out because I'm seeing all types of info, some say anything over 3 some say 4-5 is normal. I would imagine if it was bad, they wouldn't let me just walk out of there. I guess I just need to wait and hear from my OB and trust the real Drs and not Dr. Google anyone have personal experience to share?

Yes! If they were concerned AT ALL then they would have said something. At my 20 week U/S I want to say mine measured at 4 and the doctor said it was long and perfect. DON"T consult Dr. Google. It will only make you crazy.

Every woman's body is different. Even if a normal is 4-5, that doesn't mean that abnormal is bad. The doctors pay attention to what YOUR normal is and what is a concern or not a concern. I think at week 16, the measurement is a starting point. So that when they measure you in later weeks, they know if your cervix is shortening and therefore opening early.
Your number is fine. The fact that your cervix is closed is the important part!

I had many cervical checks when I was expecting my boys. My MFM wanted to see a number over 2.5- lower than a 2 and it was bedrest and maybe a cerclage. My measurements were never lower than 4.5- but he said my cervix was an overachiever.
Congrats on your little boy- yay!
Ya know, they measured my cervix at the last u/s but never said anything about it. I took that as no news is good news?
