When I co-hosted a shower for my friend, I did little bags of chocolates that were in the shapes of ducks and bottles and cute baby things. It took me like 2 days to make them, but everyone loved them.
For my sister's we ordered cute bags of those personalized M&Ms (baby's name and her initials, all in baby blue and white and tied with a blue bow). They were loved by all as far as I know. Not sure what they'll do for mine, though, since it's not until January.
For my shower I already had my aunt did chocolate covered peanut clusters wrapped with a cute saying about thank you for coming. They were amazingly good and I think I ate like three bags on the way home.
I vote edible!

We didn't do anything for ours but that's how are family is, there were a ton of kids (big family shower) and we decorated with little pumpkins which doubled as a pumpkin painting activity for them, so they all took their pumpkins home.
Proud babywearing, breastfeeding, vaccinating SAHM of 2U2!
My mom made these for my shower with green and red apples. In the bottom is a small container of caramel dip. They looked so pretty sitting on the table with the ribbon and rafia. My guests raved about them.

My mom got these little jars (sorry, no pic...) with the briefcase-like closure? Haha--if you can imagine what that looks like...and filled them with those personalized M&Ms. She got three colors, some that said "It's a Girl!", some that had pacifiers on them, and some with "Baby Lastname" on them, so they're super-cute. Everyone loved them. I love that the jar can be used for something else.
We are having a girl and I'd like to give out different shades of pink OPI nailpolish with a tag on it that says "it's a girl!" This would be for people who win at games or if the timer goes off when I am opening their gift.

My MIL had gingerbread boy and girl cookies made for guests. My friends had baby bottles of jelly beans for my local shower.
Just go to https://www.ticklemeplant.com and see the video of the TickleMe Plant in action. You may not believe this is real when you see this house plant close its leaves when Tickled!!
The TickleMe Plant Party Favors were a big hit.Who wouldn't want to grow a pet like plant that moves and closes its leaves when you Tickle It.
The leaves re-open in minutes and the adult TickleMe Plant can produce sparkling pink flowers. I love the TickleMe Plant song...so cute
My hosts weren't going to do favors so I took this responsibility upon myself. They did a snowflake theme. I baked snowflake sugar cookies and snowflake mints. Put them in a baggie w/a nice thank you note and attached a snowflake ornament to each bag w/ribbon that read "Its a Boy"! They were adorable, everyone loved them.
Re: Party favors???
My SIL is having a little girl and I'm throwing her shower. I am doing these little ovens in white and pink with the phrase "baked with love"
then on the oven door "What are little girls made of??" and these inside:
Under I will write - "and everything nice"
I spent all Sunday making the ovens - it took ages.
