Mostly generic, but there are some things that just don't compare.
I find that some cleaning products just aren't the same in generic form (Windex, Pine-Sol, Dawn). If I am going to splurge and have an Oreo, I want the real thing. Generic trash bags have failed me too many times.

I buy generic whenever I can, but agree w/everyone else. Some things I buy namebrand are pasta, shampoo/conditioner, lotions, diapers, butter, pop, and certain condiments... ketchup, mayo, dijon mustard.

I buy name brand on pretty much everything. The only thing I can think of that I might buy is generic spring water.

Depends on where I am and what the product is. We recently got an Aldi, so I've been buying their brand of stuff, and a lot of it is really good. Cheese, milk, sour cream, a lot of dairy. I haven't tried their canned goods or boxed stuff yet.
I'll buy mostly generic unless there's a big difference in ingredients, like sugar vs. HFCS or aspartame. I also won't buy generic mayo and I'm a Heinz ketchup snob, though I've heard that some generic ketchups are the same thing as Heinz but in different packaging.
Re: Name brand or generic band?
I agree with Hav=Fath on this one and to add to her list of name brand must have's IMO:
Kraft Mac and Cheese
White Sandwich Bread (Sarah Lee, Wonder or Homepride)
Soda (or pop depending on your local)
Toilet Paper (Cottonelle, I tired generic and it was a no-go)
.... Nothing else glaringly comes to mind, but I'm sure I have a few others.
It depends where I am. My usual grocery store has a great generic line up. There's only about 4 things in the whole line I don't like.
I find Walmart's generic awful in the food line up so I always buy namebrand there. The generic soap and stuff there is fine.
At Target, I'm okay with most things generic there as well.
I have tried generic PB and I just don't like it. So I agree with that one!
Most everything else, I am ok with generic. Dr. Oz says it's all the same! (It's not, how can it be....the generic PB seriously is gross, haha!)
And the TP... Even costco's brand vs cottonelle is so different!!
I'm asolutely nuts and I cant buy no name stuff even though I know deep down its exactly the same.
We buy no name garbage bags and things like that, but not food. Store brand diapers (depending on the store) are okay too
