August 2012 Moms

Fingers crossed, we've made sleep progress!

I don't know if I can technically correlate the two, but ever since I got the Nose Frida DD has been sleeping better!  She still has her periods of screaming, but if you walk around so she can see everything she calms down.  For two nights in a row now, she's been down at 10:00 (which is good for us!).  She gets up at 2:00 and 5:00 to eat then goes back to sleep until around 9:00.

Now, if she'd only eat!  Yesterday, she only had 18 ounces which is down from 24.  She's supposed to be getting 26.  DH had her while I was in class, though.  She doesn't eat as well for him as she does for me.  He's not as patient.  He shoves the bottle in and if she doesn't suck immediately, he assumes she's not hungry.  She likes to push it away a few times before she actually eats.

  • As far as the eating, we go through the same thing when my mom watches her. She will have her for 2 hours in the afternoon and if Stella doesn't immediately suck on the bottle, she thinks she doesn't want it. Sometimes you have to coax her into it because she likes to push it away. My mom wonders why she's fussy for her. LOL...that's awesome with the congestion being cleared up. Maybe this will help her. If she cries a lot she probably has a big mucus build up. Hopefully she continues to sleep for you!

  • My husband just bounces her to sleep at that point, assuming she's tired instead of hungry. She's then a crazy person when I get home. Luckily, it's the end of the semester and my professor for my late night class has us leaving earlier and earlier. I was home an hour and a half early last night!

I have been using the Nose Frida 2 or 3 times a day. I'm getting better at using it but am still not proficient. She's still a little congested now and I just used it an hour ago. I can't seem to get it all cleared with one go.
