How often does your dr tell you to nurse?

My little girl is 6 weeks old and I'm feeding her every 3 hours. The drs at the hospital told me to nurse every two until i introduce solids, but feeding her that often was upsetting her stomach.

I was just wondering how often your dr's told you to nurse and for how long?

Nurse when your baby wants it. LO will let you know. My LO got very fussy when I tried to feed him every 2 hours from being too full.

My LO nurses every 2 to 3 hours during the day and 4 to 5 hours at night. He sometimes will want to nurse every hour some days and not eat as much other days. Life is eventual/different everyday. :

The doctors and nurses said to fed when she is hungry which is currently about every hour and a half to three hours. I don't let her go longer than 4 hours during the day, but will let her sleep until she wakes at night sometimes up to 5 hours.

We were told every 2-3 hours until back to birth weight. Now the doctor says a minimum of 6 feelings every 24hours we are currently closer to 8 a day.

Our doctor said 2-3 hrs during the day / 3-4 hours at night. My boy usually does eat evey 2 hrs during the day / 3 1/2 -4 at night naturally.

Since my LO had surpassed his weight at 2weeks, my pediatrician told me I can feed on demand. So basically that comes to about every 3-4 hours on average.

At six weeks, nurse when LO "tells" you to--when she's hungry. Our LC told us every two hours at first, but after she'd regained her birth weight to go off of her cues.

For us, it's still usually every two hours, but sometimes longer.
