sleepers for daytime

DD got a few fleece footed sleepers for her birthday.  I don't like them for bedtime, but they're nice and warm.  She has trouble keeping socks on so they keep her feet warm.  Is it ok to have her wear them during the day?  I usually send her to daycare in an outfit but these seem like the might be more comfortable.  What do we think about sleepers for daytime use?

  • If we were staying home then I would use them.  I may send her to daycare in one, but if we were going out I wouldn't.  It is pretty obvious that they are pjs.

  • Around the house or at daycare it's fine.  To church or a restaurant? It's a little weird.

  • DS doesn't go to daycare but I would only want to use them at the house. Like PP said, it's obvious they are pajamas and I wouldn't take him out anywhere at this age in pajamas. I think younger babies can get away with it though.

I'll agree, they sure do seem comfortable!! I just ordered a few pairs from Carter's and I hope they fit DS!

  • At home I think they are ok. I have changed my son into them if we are out past his bedtime but usually he goes in a outfit and is changed at some point later
  • It doesn't often get *that* cold here, but if it did, I don't think I'd feel ashamed running errands w/ DD in the stroller in footed sleepers.  I say that especially b/c I was out with her today (in the 50s and windy), and even though she had pants and socks and shoes on, her pants kept riding up and her legs (like her entire calf!) were exposed.  I tried to cover with a blanket, but DD just ripped it off.  Maybe it was a bad pair of pants, but if it was cold and we were going to be outside for a while, I can see the allure of the footed sleeper.

That said, DD doesn't walk yet.  If she was walking (or rather, we were going someplace where she would be walking), I wouldn't.

  • Only if we were going to be out sometime at night. Otherwise she gets way too sweaty moving around in them.
