Not near other people's kids. I'd be pissed if someone's kid whacked my kid with a stick so I make sure my kids don't accidentally hit other kids. In our yard- absolutely.

Sometimes. I'm still traumatized by elementary school when I watched a kid on the playground lose an eye from a friend accidentially putting a stick into it (and then a teacher pulled it out on the playground instead of waiting until the ambulance came which resulted in the kid losing his eye). I will let DS play with them but he's monitored closely.
Yes! But we don't allow them using them as play weapons... well, at least not as swords...yesterday they were finding sticks that looked like guns. Ha. But at least they don't hit each other with them.
Yes, as long as they're not running around with them, they're not TOO big and sharp, and are careful around each other with them. I admit they make me nervous though, but I have one rough-and-tumble kid and one kid with coordination issues so it's a dangerous combination.
Sticks are my 3yos favorite toy. He seriously asked his Grandma for sticks when she asked what he wanted for his bday.
And I'll even go so far as to say that he uses them as pretend weapons. Obv I dont let him hit people, but he swings them around and "shoots" with them. And we have no toy guns at our house so its unavoidable I guess.

The stick IS voted 1 toy year after year....
OMFG that might be the worst thing I have ever heard! What a stupid teacher and I think I would be homeschooled after that, I would have been scared to go back to school.

yes
If its realy sharp or something, I'll break it for her or tell her to put it down, but generally yes.
Wait...why are sticks bad??
If you are worried about the weapon problem...a friend of mine has a cool rule - no sticks longer than your arm when around other kids

Of course I do! He builds with them, uses them as tools, makes things.

Yes. She loves to collect them and bring them home.
Had a huge meltdown the other day though when the dog got a hold of one and chewed it up, LOL
