So now that we're swimming in free candy and throwing away the fake cobwebs, it's time to think about Christmas.
I've actually been thinking about it for awhile. DS's birthday just past and he's already got the most ridiculous amounts of toys so this year. Last year I bought a ton of cheap toys that we done for by the 4th of July. He's more into reading and games this year so I thought I could just put my money into getting him some DVDs, some Hot Wheels (he LOOOOVES those) and an educational....tablet.....thingy.... whatever.....
Apparently the LeapPad2 is where it's at, but there's also the InnoTab which is $30 cheaper. I've read the reviews but I feel like they're kinda biased.
Or should I get a MobiGo to start with and get the big'un next year?
Is it a big deal?
I'm looking for something with a lot of different apps. Going out and buying actual games is expensive and annoying. I want to be able to find stories with licensed characters he'll like and has a lot of battery life.
Any input you have is greatly appreciated
Re: Leappad vs InnoTab....does it matter?
I would do Mobigo when he's a little older.. My son has one, but he likes the Innotab better.
My vote: ipad, ipod touch or Innotab
DH made the suggestion that I just buy a cheap Andriod tablet (found one for $40), get a cool skin and fill it with his favorite apps (Netflix, disney junior, PBS kids) and then get some new educational ones (I just went to a conference on apps in the classroom and I found some GREAT preschool ones).
Thinking about it.......
To be honest, this is the best idea in MY book. Our DD uses my iPad and iPhone. I have a nearly toddler proof case on both of them. She scrolls through and picks what she wants with no problems and since there are SO many apps there's always something cool she likes. She is pretty darn good with some of these things :-)
