Pregnancy Acne

Can anyone recommend some good face wash, that you can buy in-store, and is safe for pregnancy? I have been using Cetaphil since I found out I was pregnant, but it doesn't seem to help with the acne and redness in the face that has come with my pregnancy. :(

Re: Pregnancy Acne

  • I use belli I ordered it from skinstore.com cheaper but I think ulta carries it....made for pregnant women.  I also like kiss my face....I buy it at whole foods.  Both are pricey but last a long time

  • My doctor told me I could continue to use me Clearasil face wash. Since it doesn't have time to actually soak into your skin he said it was still ok to use. It's just the lotions and acne creams that have time to seep into your skin and get into your body that are harmful.
  • Amalou Skin was created specifically to safely help pregnant moms with acne and other skin issues...check it out at www.amalouskin.com. Was recently featured in InStyle magazine and the site has user testimonials under the Press section.
  • Thanks ladies!! I am definitely going to try some of these!

  • You can use Belli Skin Care's Anti-Blemish Facial Wash.  You can get it at Ulta, Buy Buy Baby and other stores.  Check their website, www.belliskincare.com for more places to get their products.  This product is safe to use during pregnancy.

This is what I use, with limited results. But, I know it's something that is safe.

One thing my OB brought up - anything you can do to assist with the "cell turnover" on your face will help to keep blemishes at bay. Especially while you are pregnant, things are "turning over" faster than normal. So - you might want to consider exfoliating a couple of times a week to help clear your pores. I realized I hadn't exfoliated since I got my BFP, and started doing so this week. My face still isn't great, but it is better.

    Good luck!
